After my experience today, I’ve learned that this place has come under new management, which is disappointing that the opportunity to improve this restaurant was lost on me.

I started by calling ahead because I’ve often had to wait a long time when I order at the drive thru. I was told it would take 20 minutes. I arrived 5 minutes early and had to wait a while before someone greeted me at the window. I arrived early so I could discuss why the total I was quoted seemed higher than what I saw on the menu posted on Google. I ordered 6 fajita beef tacos at $3.50 each. When I got to the restaurant, I was told that the tacos were $6.00 each. The woman at the window stated that it’s an old menu and suggested I read the disclaimer about menu availability. She told me that all current information is on their Facebook page. I suggested to her that you may want to get with Google and have it updated. She responded by telling me that they have nothing to do with what they have on Google and again suggested I read the disclaimer about the menu availability. Way to put that on your customer who is now paying $10 more because they read the “wrong menu”.

So I gave her my card to pay for the food. It had already been 20 to 25 minutes since I ordered ahead. She gave me back my card and receipt and closed the window. I figured she’d be back with my order. I didn’t see anyone for 15 more minutes. I was livid. A car drove up behind me and I thought hopefully, that will get someone to the window so I can ask what was taking so long. When she finally opened the window, I said, “I called ahead for a reason, you quoted me 20 minutes and it has been 40 minutes. What took so long?” All she said was “Sorry about that. Have a nice day.” Then she shut the window on me.

I saw red but I took a deep breath and drove off telling myself both Google and Facebook are getting this review.

I will say this one good thing about my experience. When I got home and sat down to eat, the tacos were the ! Way better than the dry tacos I’ve had from previous visits. So, if anything will save this place, it’s the cook. Whoever you are, I thank you. I hope you are well compensated .

However, I’m sorry to say. I will never go back due to how I and my concerning questions about the menu were treated at the window. Do better about who you have representing your restaurant.

Terrible food and customer service!!! We placed an order weeks in advance for a tamale pickup for Christmas and received these small, no filling, sorry looking tamales. I reached out to the Facebook page and let them know the issues. They did nothing to make it right and left me with the nasty product. Vicki Luna (the owner) needs to learn how to run a business and treat her customers of 15+ plus years better!!

Just driving through and decided to try the tamales. The drive through line moved fairly quickly and the lady at the window was very nice and informative. My tamales came out quickly and were already warm. The salsa verde tasted watered down with a lot of lemon. The service was quick. The tamales were lacking in meat. Maybe 80/20 of masa vs. meat. Size was consistent within my order,2 inches wide,8 inches long.I understand inflation, but with each tamale costing around $1.50 each there was not enough meat to even taste. What a loss for the customer. Masa was flavored well but it was a little greasy soaking through the husk.

I love Menudo. I eat it every single chance I get.
Today I decided to try Luna’s Menudo. It’s not bad a little bit on the expensive side and for 16 bucks I think I should be able to get jalapeños and a normal sized lime wedges that will produce the lime juice needed for the meal. There wasn’t a lime at all in the other garnish cup. Pretty Meh -two stars.

Tamales cost the most around. They charge $20/dozen where most charge $15. I order 5 dozen tamales and a jar of hotsauce and they don’t give you any of the small hotsauce samples they would give people who don’t order the jar of hotsauce so I had to pay for the extra samples of hotsauce.

I’ve lived in Edgewood for almost 10 years and finally I stopped at Luna’s Tamales for lunch with my husband!
They did not disappoint.
The place was packed and that’s always a good sign, and the menu was full of delicious looking items.
I could not believe the variety!
The customer service was top notch and the food was delicious!
If you’re looking for some delicious street tacos, a big chile relleno or some spicy hot menudo, try out Luna’s Tamales!
Drive through or you can go inside and order take out or dine in!

What a feast we enjoyed Sunday morning thanks to Luna Tamales. The tamales had just the perfect meat to masa ratio!!! We also tried the menudo and it too was spiced up just right! Very friendly service! Can’t wait to be back in East Texas to feast on some delicious authentic Mexican cuisine! We’ll be taking some back to share with the rest our fam!

1/17/25 Was our first time visiting here we were in town for a fishing trip , saw the place thought we’d try it and we will never be going back or recommending.

We didn’t even finish our food because the beans were watered down and couldn’t tell if it was the beans or the meat that had a funny taste to it.

Well needless to say our stomachs let us know the food was bad just a little ways down the road and have been miserable all day today as well, have to stay close to a restroom.

It’s called Lunas tamales but we were told they hardly ever have tamales but we were lucky because they had some in the food truck outside , the lady inside told us they rarely have them but that if we wanted tamales she could give us her phone number and we could get them from her mom. We let her know we don’t live here in the area just visit to go fishing.
The lady inside was very nice ,attentive , and tried her best even though she couldn’t answer questions about the food or menu items bless her heart. The restaurant was nice looking and clean and the waitress/hostess was very good.
