Uncle Tetsu @Serramonte Mall
I love Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecakes — every flavor I’ve tried is delicious! I got the small ones in different flavors, and honestly, they’re all worth trying. The cheesecake is light, fluffy, and melts in your mouth — not too sweet, with a soft, creamy texture that’s perfectly balanced. It has that signature jiggly and airy feel that makes it different from a regular dense cheesecake. Each bite feels fresh and comforting, especially when it’s still slightly warm.
It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the quality and taste. This branch is inside Serramonte Mall — clean area, friendly staff, and sometimes they even have promotions or discounts. Love this place!

Delicious and fresh cheese cake, my grandma love it so much. Clean environment and alright customer service. They have sample for you to try it if you are not sure which favor you would like to get. Chocolate cheesecake was actually really good but ube was delicious as well. Will definitely come back again for the cheesecake and hopefully have better experience with customer service.

I remember back when Uncle Tetsu was still new to the Bay Area when they first opened their location in Hillsdale mall. Ofc me being the bandwagon hopper, I wanted to see what the hype was about. I kid you not, there was a minimum 2 hour wait and a purchase limit of 2 cakes. Yes, I ended up waiting 2 long hours for them but it was worth it at the time. Glad to see them quickly expanding throughout the bay!
Pictured is the Ube and Matcha one. Light and fluffy. Not too sweet. Ube flavor is a very subtle where as the matcha one you get a slightly butter aftertaste, which is what you want. Still waiting to check off strawberry, sesame, and chocolate off my list!

It’s located inside the mall. There are lot of parking and seats.
I have bought its cheese cake many times from different locations. The taste is almost the same. Only prices are going up a lot since the first time I bought it which was at LA from many years ago. There are more favors and variety than before.
The cake is a decent size. Personally, I like less cheesy, less sweet cheese cakes.

It was a nice pleasant place to find in the mall, nice easy experience for order and tasted the cheese cake before deciding which ones to buy. They have the newest flavor which was the pandan coconut flavor it was so yummy! It just melts in my mouth. Quick drop in for pickups and go. Bakery is close proximity to the parking garage which made it easy for me to grab and go. I ordered 1 pandan coconut and 2 coffee flavors which is our family’s all time favorites.

A regular at Uncle Tetsu, with multiple Bay Area locations. This time for the Valentine special. Red Velvet Cheesecake with a free heart shape chocolate chip cookie, based on availability each day. Yum!

SO AIRY AND FLUFFY! Each cheesecake is about $12. Couldn’t decide on which flavor to get, they all looked tempting, but I chose original and strawberry. The original was amazing. This was my first time trying a Japanese style cheesecake and I was so surprised by how fluffy it is. Like eating a cloud! The strawberry cheesecake tastes like strawberry ice cream. So good, would definitely get a cheesecake here again when I’m in the area.

The cheesecakes have no color and are super small and flat. do yourself a favor and make your own…if cheesecake bakers in Japan saw these they’d be insulted
