First time visiting their new spot! The cocktails are super creative and delicious, loved the variety of tequilas and mezcals. The food is delicious, there are a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. We got a variety of tacos and all were delicious. I do miss the “children of the corn” fries from the old spot, but I’m so happy that they have this new space! Service is great also, everyone was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going out here more often!

Last night 10/23/2025 was my first time experiencing TBT. My kids have experienced this eatery two other times and we’re very pleased. My kids told me about TBT prior to my visiting, so I wanted to try TBT. I’m pleased that I did. My kids had burrito bowls and I had two different tacos. I had the Impulsive Cowboy Tattoo and Dude, Where’s My Carnitas? tacos and a bowl of Spanish rice. Let me say this, I’m from Colorado and grew up on authentic Mexican food and I definitely was not expecting to enjoy my bowl of Spanish rice , but whomever the chef was last night hey’ the food was off the chain!!! My tacos were delicious, the rice was authentic and since my peeps didn’t leave anything in their bowls I’m going to believe those were delicious as well! I also was diggin’ the decor and atmosphere. The outdoor patio was decorated in preparation for celebration of “Dia de los muertos”. Last but not least, our server Kaly is a gem. Thank you for your professionalism, genuine and gracious service. Oh, yes and the dips and chips were slammin’. Thank you, TBT El Gallo. Y’all ROCK!!

Great margs, food, and service! We tried the “all the damn dips”. The salsas all had a great flavor profile and the queso and guacamole were delicious. I tried the burrito bowl with chicken and salsa verde and my husband got the burrito bowl with carne and salsa verde – both delicious. The service was excellent. I want to check out brunch on Sunday’s – they have live music! Check it out if you’re in the fan and hungry for delicious food!

Pros: The chicken burrito is really great and filling, the outdoor deck is really cute and a great place to sit and chat while eating, and the staff is friendly. We were also seated quickly.
Cons: I felt this was much too expensive for what it was, and the tacos especially are very expensive for not being filling at all. The tacos had great presentation, but I did not find the flavor to be particularly standout.
I didn’t mark down for this as it’s just a personal preference thing, but I also felt like the service was a bit slow. Overall I would give this a 3.5 rather than a 3 if I could and I would likely go back for the chicken burrito.

Totally Bad Ass Tacos El Gallo lives up to the hype. The new location in the fan is beautiful with a super nice patio. The food is great and the beer selection is full of great beers that other bars do not have. The BOGO free burritos are on Ubereats are a monthly must for me. Carlos the owner has always been super welcoming. The Vampiro tacos are cheesy, beefy and amazing.

Stopped in on a whim. Great find. The food was very good; fresh, varied choices, and good prices. Loved the vegetarian selection. They even made an off the menu taco for our daughter. Super friendly and respectful. The place has both outdoor and indoor seating. Not crowded when we were there so very pleasant. Would definitely go back.

Good Mexican food with a happy hour that is even on the weekend. The tacos were very vibrant and delicious. But I would recommend ‘’All The Damn Dips Sampler’’ on the menu. The queso has to be in my top 3 favorites now. The service was very slow and it took awhile just to get seated at a table during the day with only one table being served at the time. Aside from that, I would definitely go again for happy hour and apps.

Very cool spot with attentive staff. Decorations are colorful and have character. The happy hour deals and rotating menu options thru the week are awesome. The outside seating is a nice touch!

Their new spot at 2614 W Cary is cozy and cool. Art and neon and gorgeous tile work, high ceilings and good music. The services knowledgeable, friendly, cheerful and attentive, but not overly.
The food! Flavors so rich, I had a moment, ok several. We had the chips and sauces, super fresh, nothing too hot, the guac chunky thick gorgeous. They give you lids so you can bring home what ya don’t finish. The birria cheese lace, chunky fried fish taco, sweet carnitas, street corn that’s good with everything. The wings… I don’t have words except that glaze… I got every bit I could without licking the plate. There’s a blend of intense flavors and no heat to overpower them. 3 dessert choices all homemade, we had the key lime pie and yeah, get it. Can’t wait to return and dig into the menu more!
