Social Profile:

August Swine Barbecue is a family-owned, farm-to-table, quick-service BBQ restaurant rooted in a Southwest Georgia legacy that began in the 1920s with Willie “Big Daddy” Williams. We specialize in whole-hog barbecue, smoked low and slow using time-honored pit techniques. Our competitive difference starts on the farm. We raise heritage-bred hogs and chickens that are humanely raised, free-range, and fed a clean, natural diet — no slop. That care carries through every step, from the pit to the plate. Our Address: 1150 Temple Drive | Sugar Hill, GA We are located at the corner of Temple Drive and West Broad Street in downtown Sugar Hill, GA.

Got the pulled pork and the beans & bones. $15. The sandwhich is overflowing with meat, as well as overflowing with flavor( not only does it have a light Smokey flavor but they mix a sweetheat sauce into it as well after they pull it). I would recommend giving this place a try if you like flavor!

Hannah provided great customer service! She was very friendly and gave couple recommendations.

It was also unique to hear about how the owners also have a farm and that the employees will be able to visit it. It’s neat that the owners and company will understand multiple avenues of how this business works. Sounds like a unique opportunity for those getting in now to be with a company as they grow and having multiple area for a person to have interest in is super unique.

I one thing to be aware of this is outdoor seating only, they do have unique pellet stoves outside for heat that work great! Just thought throw out there, they do have ample seating area, more than an average restaurant but it is open air seating.

Finally! A legitimate BBQ joint I can rely on to be solid over and over! Demi, Merritt & Reggie sure know how to make people feel like home while there. I went opening day and have not stopped going back. Highly recommended, where is the 6th ⭐️

The service was wonderful. Monica (I hope I got her name right) greeted us and introduced herself at the window, and everyone else who worked there greeted us. Very friendly! One of the owners told us a little about their history, and there are signs up all over that tell about their family history – which is very interesting. Something to do while you wait. ☺️
They have big heaters outside, so you stay warm, in case it’s a cold night like it was when we went.
We had the pork sandwich, pork bowl, macaroni and cheese, and Brunswick Stew – all excellent! I hope this place gets popular; it’s nice to have a good barbeque place right down the street.

Oh! And great blues music playing. Wish I had asked who we were listening to so I could add to my playlist.

We ordered lunch for the Specialty Engraving company today and could not be happier!
The bar-b-que pork, chicken and chicken salad were great and the side were fantastic as well. The slaw, Mac and cheese and baked beans(thick and meaty) were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the Brunswick stew and as a Connoisseur I can truthfully say this is some of the best ever. We Highly Recommend August BBQ and for our next company lunch we are going to have a RibFest! Get ready August, We’re coming back!

Updated from 1 to 3⭐️… I can still hear the music all day but damn those are some good ribs!!!!
Please for the love of god. Turn down your music so all the apts above you don’t have to listen to it all day. With my windows closed, calls I’m on have asked if I’m listening to music while talking with them. I want to buy and enjoy your wonderful bbq… not be impacted in my home by your loud music. Thank you. Happily will update rating and support your restaurant if changes are made.

Quick service, great food. We got the beef ribs and mac and cheese and it was ready in under 5 minutes. Beef ribs were tender and juicy, probably the best I’ve had. Mac and cheese had really good flavor, only thing is it was a little bit gritty. They’ve got warmers outside which was amazing when we went on a really cold day. Will definitely be back.

The ribs were dry and tough! Hard to chew! They weren’t falling off the bone. The sides were reasonable and tasty. The peach cobbler for $6.00 was very disappointing! Too crusty and it just didn’t have that homemade taste! I think the price was a little high but for cumming I wasn’t surprised. They can do better if they want better reviews.

Went and tried this after seeing them on tiktok off of that CDeatsAtlanta page and seeing how close they were, I had to try it. So glad I did! THAT was some of the best Grilled Chicken I have had North Atlanta. Customer service was amazing. Demi made sure I got my order and it was hot. Food came out fast. Family owned and operated. Great story behind them as well. I hope they get inundated with good customers. But that Grilled Chicken needs to be studied!

I wanted to love this place since I love some good bbq. It was very disappointing. Although meat was very tender, it lacked good flavor. We had ribs and chicken. I tried both original bbq sauce and sweet. I didn’t like either sauce so ate the meat without any sauce. We tried the Mac n cheese for a side and it was awful. It was the worst I’ve had. I took one bite. It was that bad to not eat another bite. Gave 1 for atmosphere only because there’s outside seating and it was chilly and even though they have outside heaters, none were on so we took out food to go. I would not recommend this place. I will not be returning.

In a word – delicious! We tried the brisket (a daily special), Mac and cheese, and the Beans and Bones. All were excellent. Freshly prepared, super tasty, and served with sincere southern hospitality. Convenient pick up or stay at eat outside in downtown Sugar Hill. We’ll be back!
