It’s an okay/fun experience, but not sure I’d go back.

The sushi was very good. The rest of the food that was prepared in front of us wasn’t bad per se, but it all tasted the same in the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. We had reservation for right when they opened, but one of the dishes was already not available.

The staff were all very kind, although I felt a little bad for our chef who was just doing this part-time and looking for a job in his field.

Decent place with that 90’s nostalgia to it. Food was good and the service was excellent. Prices were a bit high for what you get but it was good.

From the get go the place is runed, there is 1980 couch with no legs to greet you. The greeter was very confused as they don’t write down names with the reservations. We finally got seated and the place is cold. We were given menues and they were dirty with smears of whatever on them. My drink was ok, my husband hot saki was barely warm. The spring rolls we ordered were something battered and not a spring role at all. My husband ordered sashimi, it took forever to come and when it did it was frozen !!! It took a while to come as they were trying to thaw it. ‍♀️
The soup was barely warm. Our cook at the table was very nice, and the cooking was ok. My husband ordered his steak rare and it was way over cooked. Everything tastes the same as all,
the same cooking sauces were used in everything. I did not use the washroom, but some of my friends did and they stated it was dark and sketchy. The best part about the evening was the company we were in :). Honestly I was no idea how this place is still open.

So i don’t usually do this …but I wish I could give a 0 !!!! We were there a total of 45 min we tried to order appetizers and they were out of everything …also no sushi so that cut off half the menu ..then they offered us complimentary spring rolls wich apparently weren’t able to be served for some reason ….at that point we got up and left plates empty belly’s empty . They took 10% off our btl of sake we were still charged 40$ and no manager came over to see us and as we left the owners were asleep on the couch in the entrance! Would not ever go back or pay 40 to 50 $ an entree! Terrible place!

I had high hopes on this, but this is no where near a true Tappanyaki/Hibachi restaurant standard. The chef was nice, but extremely inexperienced and kept on dropping the food in the oil drain. The shrimp was ok, but steak was not good, meat was unevenly cooked. Veggies and noodles were way too oily and lack of taste as well. Also, the restroom is filthy, I would not recommend this place.

4.5 stars (if Google allowed me to!) As others have posted, Teppanyaki was delish – nice variety of meat, poultry and seafood to choose from; and the at-table chef / grill experience was wonderful. The ‘extras’ (I ordered mushrooms) were generous and savoury. Very creative sushi options (we chose the spicy variety) and as others have said, hot Saki…although that was a bit on the costly side. Good service and they made us feel valued. Only negative was the wait time to be served initially (25 minutes) despite a reservation and on-time arrival, and dingy restrooms. Overall though was really impressed and would return!

We went to Edoko on a very busy weekend night. From the moment we walk in, we are greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. The teppanyaki tables are set up for us. The young chef we had are not only skilled at cooking, but is also entertain and engage with us, making for a memorable and fun experience. As for the food, it is nothing short of exceptional. The menu offers a wide variety of options, chicken and seafood to steak and fillet mignon.
The service at the restaurant is outstanding, I can tell they were short-staffed for a busy night, but the service is still attentive and friendly, the staff came to check on our table several times and made sure that our dining experience is perfect from start to finish. The elder waiter/manager is knowledgeable about the menu and always willing to offer recommendations on wine and liquor.
My tip is to book in advance and make sure you get a table on the teppanyaki side. The experience is completely different.

I don’t even know where to start here. Firstly they had packed our Valentine’s Day dinner table so full. There was supposed to be 12 people. Now the appetizers and soups were good but hibachi has another story. Me and my Girlfriend ordered the filet mignon and scallops . The chef started cooking our vegetables which he didn’t have enough of and some poor guy at our table got a spoon full of only onions. The filet were very salty and oily. Then he started cooking the noodles and every time he leaned over his tie would drag through the noodles. The scallops were mushy. We politely left the table after the chef was done cooking and went up to a waitress to ask if I could have my scallops cooked more and that they were very mushy. Simply explaining the situation. She then took my plate to the back where the cooks then proceeded to eat off my plate and tell me the food was fine. So then she brings me the bill with no new food and took 4 dollars off. I then asked if I could have my food back and she said sure. The chef then brings out the bag of frozen scallops saying to me that they are real. I knew they were real I just wanted them cooked a little more and not mushy. This was the first restaurant I left hungry.

Anyways I don’t like giving bad reviews because I’m a big believer in small businesses but their attitude when told the food was not good was awful.

Let me ask does this look appetizing to you?

PS that’s not gravy it’s cooking oil and a little bit a sauce.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 15 years. I will not be returning. They have stripped away everything that made the food delicious. Miso soup is now flavourless chicken water. No salad. Steak used to be sirloin now it’s chewy low grade cut yet still 40 dollars. Even the sauce which used to be iconic is now just soy sauce. I have to believe ownership has changed because this is a shell of what is used to be.
