Thought we’d give The Original Egg a try and we’re glad we did. Sarah provided excellent service and the food was great. I had the regular eggs Benedict and grits. I’m something of a grit snob and will say these grits, loaded with bacon and cheese, were really tasty, without lumps! Our coffee cups were kept full of aromatic goodness and they served real butter. A great way to start our day.

This is a quaint place to eat, the servers are attentive, and the food is decent. This was our second visit, I got the breakfast combo of 2 eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, ham, and pancakes, and I had to take leftovers home. There is not a gluten-free menu, but there are options that you can choose from the menu that do not have gluten in them. The overall price of the meal is reasonable, especially compared to the portion size.

New upholstery needed on seats. The food is good but was not hot. The French toast is Devine every bite. The waitress is really nice. Request double brew if you want to taste your coffee bean. And the price is nice.

I just added pictures & update to this 8 yr old post from today’s visit. I’ve eaten often at this place and taken many people visiting from out of town here.
Went with the folks and my sister. Food was good and plentiful. Service was above average. Impressive menu. Huge selection and some not usual breakfast stuff available. We’ll return.

Met the wife and daughter for a late breakfast. Since becoming the Original Egg formerly Jimmie’s Eggs there has been some changes. Some I’m sure due to the change, others the economy. Fewer menu items. Still good food. Depends on the wait person for quality of service. A think our order was put in incorrectly as 1 side item was terribly late getting to the table. Over all not a bad experience. Times are a changing and adjusting expectations can help with your overall experience. 45$ + tip. Not pictured 2 drinks & 1 coffee

Yum! But…. Staff was rude, Manager was doing literally nothing the whole time I was there. The place was totally swamped, but the customer service was basically the worse I’ve ever seen. Waffle House cared much more for my money then this place. I won’t be back, it was very expensive… like $15 for one person to eat….
