The Akrami family (Azar & Ata) migrated to the United States of America in the late 1970’s due to the Revolution in their native country of Persia. They left everything behind and with great courage, determination, and faith started a whole new life with their two sons, Ramin and Ashcon. The word of mouth soon reached the nearby cities to their hometown of Louisville, KY, traveling as far as Washington DC. After a few decades of persistence by friends and foe alike to open a restaurant, Akrami’s sons Ramin and Ashcon finally put a front to a very old family tradition of crazy-good food and then there was born Shiraz Mediterranean Grill.

Oh my goodness, the food is always on point!! I was get the Greek salad (dine in so they will toss it with the salad dressing), chicken kabob with herbal rice, side of tzatziki and the chicken shwab(like a pocket of goodness)!!! Service is always exceptional! I’ll always be back!

My son and I visited the Bardstown Rd. location. The food was excellent, so fresh. The atmosphere was great. We sat outside and ate, while we people watched.
He got the chicken kabob, while I ordered the shrimp kabob. We shared a sampler plate. There was not one thing that either of us disliked. I heartily recommend this restaurant. I will definately be going back!

Top notch a-one quality. Highly recommend their kebabs with rice or sweet potato chips. Gave 4 star that doesn’t mean they fall sort. It is just my way of evaluating perfect parameters. Nevertheless, coming to the point their servings were great, hospitality, coming skills and beautiful fusion of spices and taste. Loved it.

My family and I love Shiraz. It’s obvious the food is made with fresh ingredients. We eat here about once a week! We love the family platter, it’s perfect for our family! Our toddler is a big fan of the sweet potato fries as well! The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always super friendly!

I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazingly delicious; I honestly come here and majority of the time, I get me two shrimp kabobs with herbal rice, extra grilled onions and tomatoes, Shiraz salad and Tzatziki Sauce, humus and the bread! I mix everything together beside the humus and the bread because I put the humus on my bread then I put everything that I mixed in it and man oh man! My absolute favorite I have to take an extract plate home! I recommend everyone to try Shiraz it’s fresh and tasteful! Appreciate coming here once a month lol

We love the location on Bardstown Road so much that we eat here at least once a week,sometimes more. We get the lunch chicken kabob that comes with a side of rice and pita bread,side of hummus and tizaki sauce. We also get a side of grilled veggies and the chicken shawrma pockets. The food is always delicious,and we get great service. I will highly recommend trying if you like Mediterranean food.

Today I went to this restaurant and was so disappointed. I’m always so happy to eat here. But today was not good the lamb Loin chops were not seasoned well and I requested well done and that is usually what the cook gives me. Not today, the entire dish of lamb loins were pink except for one. The salad tasted off and the pita bread was so hard I couldn’t chew it, the corn tasted like they cooked it yesterday. The staff has rings all in their face and the cook had long nails with no gloves. I’m highly disappointed since this is one of my favorite places to eat
