First time trying Grassa and enjoyed it for the most part. It seems pretty comparable to other $15-20 pasta entree places I’ve tried in other cities, and the pasta is decent quality, cooked al dente, and pretty flavorful.

I ordered the carbonara, which came with a fried egg and pancetta, though I do wish the meat portion was a bit larger (although difficult to complain for $15).

The vibes inside the restaurant are very clean, modern and chic.

The service seemed a bit slow (we waited ~20-25 minutes for 2 plates of pasta), but I think it’s because they were making each plate of pasta fresh to order.

Overall I’d say if you’re not in a hurry it’s a good place to get a decent affordable plate of pasta.

The radiatore with chicken is OUTSTANDING. Chicken, tomatoes, peppers, 3 ricotta scoops, basil, and handmade noodles all for only $16? Amazing.

I’ve had five things on the menu here, you can’t go wrong. I really can’t believe this menu is handmade and less than $20 per plate. Anywhere else in town you’re pushing $30.

Great food, super quick, kind staff. Don’t let the low prices and fast service convince you this is a casual food spot – this is as good if not better than any pasta spot in Portland.

One note with takeout: the timing is often inaccurate. It almost always says 55min wait, but I’ve never had to wait more than 10.

Great! We got a late lunch or early dinner here. I really like the vibe here: order at the counter but it’s high quality food and very unique! The Pizza Hot pocket was surprisingly GOOD. — Will be visiting again!

Excellent lunch service; food is perfectly al dented, flavor is on point! Plenty of both indoor & outdoor patio deck sidewalk seating. Great for everyone: singles, kids children, and families.
Thank you Grassa!

Great, modern Italian restaurant. The portions are pretty good and I would recommend the meat balls or the pork Mac and cheese. We also tried the chopped salad, which was pretty tasty

Really enjoyed our dinner here. You order at the counter and they serve you at your table. Service was prompt.
One of us has celiac, and they were able to provide gluten-free pasta cooked in separate water. The staff at the counter described which other dishes could be prepared gluten-free.
The roasted beets appetizer was excellent, had a nice horseradish tang to it.
The pork belly mac and cheese was phenomenal.
Will definitely be returning!

This was my second time dining at Grassa, and at a second location—and once again, it was a standout experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy, welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable meal.

The star of the show, of course, is their handcrafted, house-made pasta. The Pork Belly Mac n Cheese was pure perfection—fresh, tender, and cooked to the perfect al dente texture. You can genuinely taste the love and craftsmanship that goes into each dish. The Spaghetti and Meatballs were equally amazing, and the Pizza Pocket was a delightful surprise: incredibly flaky with a filling that was both flavorful and perfectly balanced.

What truly sets this place apart is the attention to detail. Every sauce tasted freshly made with high-quality ingredients, complementing the pasta without overpowering it. Even the garlic bread was exceptional—perfectly toasted and bursting with flavor.

The service was top-notch, with staff who were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. It’s clear they take pride in providing an outstanding experience for their guests.

Whether you’re a pasta aficionado or just in search of a warm, hearty meal, Grassa is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back again!

It’s a nice place. Food was very flavorful and relatively fast for a party of 8.

It’s a bit on the more expensive side but worth exploring.

Loved the vibe. Got here after 1 for lunch after a hike, never been here before. Got excellent service. I got the rigatoni and my brother got the radatorie, we got the garlic bread and I got the black berry jasmine lemonade. Food was fantastic, nothing was overly acidic and flavors were great.

Some of the best handmade pasta I’ve ever had. The ceaser salad felt like a salad I would get at a fine dining restaraunt. Amazing drinks, and a great environment.
