The Indian Taco is unforgettable — perfectly crisp fry bread piled high with seasoned beef, beans, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream. The fry bread itself is golden, fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside — the perfect foundation for all those rich, savory toppings. You can truly taste the tradition and care behind the recipe, reflecting the owner’s Choctaw heritage.
And the Oklahoma-style fried-onion burgers? Incredible. The thin, juicy beef patties are smashed and cooked right into the onions, creating that classic caramelized flavor that’s savory, slightly sweet, and completely addictive. It’s comfort food done right.
The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the atmosphere fits perfectly with the historic Stockyards vibe. You can tell this place is built on passion, culture, and community.
Hooker’s Grill isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. We’ll definitely be back!
VERY FRIENDLY STAFF
My wife and I dropped by here for lunch a Saturday in June of 2025.
The place has a great old-time vibe. It is clean and well kept. And it offers several seating areas.
The menu on the wall offers nice choices.
We chose a bacon-cheese-burger with fries and a fountain drink.
The service staff were very polite and professional.
The food was ready within 10 minutes.
The burger was absolutely awesome. Very tasty and juicy. Mouthwatering.
And the fries were well seasoned and very tasty.
An absolute must-visit if you are in the Stockyards.
Walking up, I was impressed by the western theme and atmosphere—it definitely sets the mood. The food was inexpensive, but unfortunately, the quality matched the price.
The highlight? The hand-cut fries. At $4.50, the portion was huge and honestly delicious. My friend ordered them, while I went with the tater tots. When my order came out, I was surprised to find exactly twelve tots in the basket. I even went up to the window to check if there had been a mistake, but the staff counted them out and confirmed that twelve was the correct portion. Meanwhile, my friend’s fries could’ve fed two people. Luckily, he shared some—those fries really were the best part of the meal.
To their credit, the manager/owner stopped by our table to ask how everything was. My friend responded positively, and I mentioned the small portion compared to the fries. She acknowledged it but explained that I did receive the correct portion, and maybe my friend had just been given too much.
Overall: fun atmosphere, friendly service, and standout fries—but portion sizes are inconsistent and the “cheap food” feel holds it back. 2.5 stars.
Got a double burger and it was great. I was expecting the onions to be more caramelized by default. Still a great burger. Next time I’ll try the burger with caramelized onions added to it.
Indian taco was unique and good. Def worth trying and splitting with multiple people. The thing is huge
Fresh patties formed by hand, fry bread made from scratch, EVERYTHING from scratch AMAZING!!!
