The quality of the food is amazing! you can really taste the care and French know-how in both the pastries and savory items. Everything is fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious.
The place itself is lovely and calm, perfect for enjoying a coffee and a treat.
The staff is also very welcoming and attentive, which makes the experience even better.

Great selection of pastries and bakeries. I like almond croissant and always order it at every bakery place I go visit. I really liked almond croissant here. My friend ordered ham and cheese croissant and she liked it, too. I will give them a visit again next time I’m in Petaluma.

Easily the closest example of a french bakery/Patisserie since I moved to the US from Burgundy in 2015. I had the pleasure of France’s best baker/pastry chef being my local, in Dijon. These pastries at Sarmentine are very close. The almond-pear tartelette is my current go-to, and the macarons are sublime!

Okay, we walked in excited that it’s a authentic French place. Pastries look amazing and I ordered a bunch. I got a savory one for having it here but the lady was so rude to me when I had a simple question of “this pastry is cold on the inside and not toasted properly”

Absolutely stunning selection and I’m so glad I zoomed in on the map to see this a little closer! Everything I had was delicious and very high-quality. Friendly staff as well! I love a good canelé and there was the perfect texture inside and out! Please come support them they fully deserve the business! Also, plenty of seating inside for work and studying!

This is going to be on the MUST STOP list for when I pass thru Petaluma! We cut up all the pastries and I was able to try 4 different kinds, and not even one disappointed. The best was the Veggie Monsieur/ croissant ….. that was some seriously savory breakfast! 10/10 would recommend!

I am absolutely thrilled that Sarmentine has come to Petaluma. This was very much needed. The pastries are delicious perfection, the coffee is tasty and robust. The service is polite. The space is large and airy. My one small complaint is the ordering process is kind of confusing and seems a bit inefficient. There’s no obvious place to order and no queue/line. customers all stand in front of the glass cases making it confusing to know who’s first. Then the person serving walks over to the register to ring up. Hopefully they’ll be able to make the ordering process a bit more streamlined. My family and I always look forward to returning to Sarmentine. Such delightful treats!

The environment and staff are incredible! We really appreciated the complimentary water cups. The music was a good volume and helped the atmosphere. Unfortunately some of the croissants and foods were soggy, and lacked some flavor.
