Very loud inside but comfortable booths. Food tasted great, but Ozempic friendly portions leave a lot to be desired. The quesadillas is actually a taco (just on its side)
20% automatic gratuity even for a party of 3, just a heads up. We did have OK service.
We were greeted by a warm and friendly valet, followed by a lively host who made us feel welcomed immediately. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu – offering thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be absolute highlights.
We tried several dishes, and every single one of them was outstanding! The crispy beef tacos were unforgettable – my son and husband couldn’t stop talking about them. The ceviche was my personal favorite – fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. The hamachi was absolutely incredible. For mains, the lamb was perfectly tender, and the branzino with potatoes was phenomenal – truly some of the best potatoes I’ve ever had. My mom loved her shrimp enchiladas, and even my daughter’s cheeseburger was done to perfection.
And then came dessert… The flan was hands down the best I’ve ever had – the texture and flavor were flawless. The churros and banana split were equally delightful and the perfect way to end the night.
Beyond the food, the ambiance deserves special mention. The lighting, the music, the warmth of the space – it all created such a cozy, welcoming, and beautifully curated atmosphere. You can feel the heart behind this place.
Exceptional food. Exceptional service. Exceptional hospitality.
We will absolutely be back and highly recommend Marvito to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in West Hollywood.
Now, the service. Yikes on bikes they need to get it together. Sometimes the services is excellent and sometimes it’s hot gatbage.
Went yesterday evening and it was allll off. Was greeted with their standard, your table “isn’t ready feel free to wait at the bar” aka “we make sure you can’t sit on time so you drink more”. That’s cool NBD. When we finally were able to sit, we still hadn’t received our drinks from the bar which is also not a major deal but waiting for 13 minutes for reservations and not getting our drinks in that time felt unnecessarily slow for a Sunday at 6:30. Next they sat us at a booth for 2 (reservations for 3) and pulled a chair from a different table and set it on the side so one of us constantly had to scoot uncomfortably close to the table because no one thought to tell the servers to use a different route. Finally, and this was the wildest part, our waiter Ryan / Brian who seemed either overwhelmed or over-served (no way this dude wasn’t knocking em back) was 0/10. I’m talking 35 minutes later had to be reminded about a Diet Coke that had been ordered and then proceeded to pretty much throw a closed can and a clear plastic solo style cup on the table. Not joking. One of the craziest things I’ve ever seen.
But, the food is great so definitely go support and hopefully you get better service.
The whole place just has a great energy without ever trying too hard. Each experience has been a hit so far.
Food: my party of 4 sampled a lot of the menu, which has a lot of options. We had chips & guac, tortilla soup, Caesar salad, macho salad, shrimp cocktail, shrimp enchiladas, carnitas tacos, and crispy beef tacos. Everything was delicious. I loved the shrimp enchiladas in particular. However, I will note that only two tacos come per order. At the price of a plate starting at $17 and going up to almost $30, this is highway robbery. $15 per taco is wild and greatly reduces my desire to return to eat here again. The chips & guac portions were also quite small, and rice & beans cost extra.
Drinks: the martini was fantastic, the margarita was just fine, and the wine list is great! I appreciate all the chilled red wine options; you don’t often see a lot of chilled reds. I would absolutely return to Marvito in the future just for drinks.
Our entire meal was $280 for four people, before tip. Again, it’s supremely easy to run up a huge bill here but not actually eat that much food.
Atmosphere: this restaurant is NOISY. We were four adults seated at a (small) booth and despite being basically shoulder to shoulder, you could barely hear the person sitting next to you. I would recommend the restaurant add some sound dampening squares or something to absorb some of the noise. By the end of the meal we were really itching to leave just to escape the noise and I had a headache from having to scream for over an hour just to carry a conversation.
Service: great staff, very friendly. They were welcoming, helpful, and did a great job!
All in all, enjoyed this spot, and happy to have it in the neighborhood. I hope it does well. I’ll likely return, but probably only for drinks and I’ll request a seat outside so that I can actually talk normally to my dining companions.
I’m taking away one star from an otherwise five-star experience because the prices are steep—about two and a half times more than the other Mexican spots just blocks away in either direction. For that reason, it probably won’t be a regular go-to for me. That said, I’d happily come back with friends for a special night out. If Marvito either upped the portions or lowered the prices, I think they’d really have a winning spot in West Hollywood.
