EXCELLENT place! Amazing views friendly, and efficient staff for being busy and short staffed. Drinks were cold! There is a fire place! Highly recommend a stop.

Lovely! I highly recommend this spot. They were so nice to my dog. I had tacos and my parents had a pizza, we all had some beers and the fried mushrooms were great! As was the chili. Partner had the brat burger which was great too. A great spot!

We stopped in with friends while visiting Mercer over a four day weekend and to say the least we weren’t disappointed. Our first impression of the outside pulling up wasn’t much… However, the inside is quite exceptional. Such a warm and cozy environment decorated with such detail. Dark woods ornamented with unique hand picked decorations fill the place. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon but there still was plenty of room for us to sit. We were seated near the back of the establishment and our server was quick to get us menus and to take our orders. The drinks came out relatively fast and were priced competitively with other similar establishments in the area. We went out back to check out the grounds persay and were surprised to find a creek and wooded area that added to the ambience of the place. We didn’t eat there that day, but all agreed the food we saw both offered and being consumed at other tables looked delicious. We will definitely return the next time in town.

Was there for a fish fry on Friday and the steak fries tasted burnt and the fish had no taste and the overall food quality is going down. Even a few months ago ordered some appetizers and they were overcooked and it was a very small amount. To bad its a nice place.

This spot is a unique north woods establishment! I had breakfast here and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The bloody mary is a must try. I hear the lunch and dinner options are good as well, so I would for sure go back. Lastly in the fall the service can be a bit slow but it’s worth the wait (I was there on a Sunday around 11). Overall a cool experience and the food is solid.

Excellent service and fantastic food, every time! Pizza was great on Tuesday’s cash only on this day of the week. and the fish fry is absolutely perfect M, W, THR, F, S, and S. Not Tuesday. The breakfast is the quality that you crave with good portions.

This was the first time we ate at Black Bear Bar & Grill. We will definitely be coming back.

The breakfast was delicious, with large omelets, crispy hash browns and great Bloody Mary’s.

The staff is very friendly and courteous.

Service was good. Waitress was plesent. However the pizza was disappointing. The thin hard dry crust was unappetizing. Our taco pizza was topped with ground beef, black olives, and Jalapeno’s. I don’t know why they named it taco. My brother said the burger was ok. The fried cheese curds were wonderful! The pizza fries had the same awful crust. One last bright spot was the atmosphere was perfect north woods bar restaurant.

We waited way too long – a couple of years – to try Black Bear Bar. Now that we finally made it, we can’t wait to return. The BBQ ribs are divine. Not only are they fall off the bone tender, but they are grilled and served with a nice dark crispy char. The sauce is perfect. They have Spotted Cow on draft. Now I can’t wait to try the Bear Burger – 1/4 pound brat patty with a 1/3 pound burger.
