It was our first time there since we don’t live in the area. The staff were very friendly and never let us run out of drinks. They have the best BBQ pork and smoked chicken around. The sauces for each were really flavorful. If we lived closer this would be our to go to spot for bbq.

I’ve eaten at this location many times and the food has been good. I’m not sure if they have had a lot of staff turnover but today was extremely disappointing. We ordered BBQ ribs, pork and fries. The ribs and fries were cold. The pork was very dry and lukewarm. We asked for fresh fries and received them. I ordered the homemade banana pudding and it was the worst i have ever seen. It was very runny like soup. No one ever came back to ask how the food was and when we got up to pay, the girl at the register was very nasty. We told her that the food was not good today that it was cold. She said that it was warm when the waitress brought it out. My friend asked her if she was the cook and did she touch it? Her facial expressions said it all. She got loud and said that she would take the fries off and I told her no! They brought hot fries and I didn’t understand what she was being so nasty when we were just letting her know that the food wasn’t very good and we eat there often. She then snapped and said well you’re taking the food to go and She just walked off and left us standing there. I asked the girl behind the Buffet counter who the manager was and she said “well, she is”. I said a few choice words and that this was not her forte!!! She needs to find another job. I have never been so angry at a restaurant. All because we wanted them to know that the food wasn’t great….and yes we got Togo boxes for the dog. That little 12 year old manager needs to work at Chuck E Cheese.

We came up for our grandsons ball tournament and decided to try Russell’s in between games. Good decision. The barbeque chicken and pork sandwiches were better than Bob Sykes. the baked beans and fries were good also. We will stop again when in this neck of the woods.

We were in town and just happened to stop here and eat. The fried onions appetizer was great, the rib plate was very flavorful and fall off the bone, the wings had a nice smoke to them and the grilled chicken sandwich had really nice pieces of white meat chicken. Didn’t love the regular bbq sauce(a little sweet for me) but they had plenty of other sauces that were great.

We tried this restaurant for the first time. I had the beef tips and rice. The rice was undercooked and crunchy. The beef tips are so tough that I can’t eat them. I’ve chewed and chewed and am tired of that. I would take them back if I lived closer. I was looking forward to getting this meal but now I’m very disappointed.

My husband and I love this place! We are new to Haleyville and happened upon the best country cooked meal in town! From their BBQ to the chicken tenders, nothing has let us down. The philly cheese steak is even really yummy. We try to stop by at least once a week. The service is great for dine in and togo. We have had a few mix ups when ordering togo but, with everything we’ve had being delicious, it’s honestly never a problem. Definitely recommend for a reasonably priced guaranteed good meal!
