I had never heard of this place until I saw an Instagram post on a January special for an “In ‘N Out” dupe burger… that alone roped me in.

Skinny George smash burger is located inside the Milano pizza and it’s a casual spot – there are a few tables and booths. Upon entry you’ll see the order counter but if you’re eating inside, it’s table service which is nice. No issue with service – our server was quite pleasant.

On to the main review – the “In N Out” dupe burger (ie. January special). I’ve been to the “real” In ‘N Out multiple times (amazing burgers btw) but unfortunately I have to say this dupe is FAR from the actual thing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good burger (but the patty is very salty – you’ll be drinking water for hours afterwards), but a ‘false advertising’ if they are comparing it to actual In ‘N Out.

The place is family/friends friendly. The people/employees and even the customers are super friendly and nice. I got this daily customers /feels like home vibe.. BUT the best thing about the experience is the FOOD!! Ohhhh the loaded fries are addictive, the smashed burgers are super tasty, fresh bun, flavored patty..it was phenomenal..if you’re craving burgers, you have to try this one!!

I ordered delivery from Skinny George, so I recognize that some of the experience was affected by Uber Eats — but a few things are still worth flagging.

The fries arrived cold and soggy, which isn’t unexpected for delivery, but I do think the packaging played a big role. The loaded fries came in a closed plastic container, which trapped steam and made everything a bit too mushy. I’d definitely recommend switching to a paper box or vented packaging — it’ll help keep the fries crispy and fresh, even in transit.

That said, the burger itself was really solid. Wrapped in foil and placed in its own container — great job. The bun was pillowy soft, the patty was nicely smashed, and the onions added great texture and sweetness (I just wish there were more!). My only critique? The beef could’ve used a touch more seasoning to really bring it home.

Overall, a pretty good smashburger spot. I’d order again — just maybe skip the fries unless they update the packaging.

Amazing smash burgers! They were made fresh and the flavours were just incredible! The owners are super friendly too and gave a tour of the kitchen where they were prepping all the meat and it shows they put a lot of heart into their food!
The burgers just melt in your mouth. I didn’t get a chance to try their cheese steak sandwich so will definitely go back! I can see why they are viral.on social media! Worth the hype!

What an absolutely incredible experience! We had the very best smash burgers you could possibly imagine and were greeted by the friendliest, attentive staff possible. They instantly made us feel like family. We drove over an hour to try this place and have never been more satisfied in our life! We without a doubt will be back again and again! Thank you for such an incredible experience. Absolutely love this place!

Decent (not the best) smashburger. Good seasoning.

The gravy for the poutine was good. Felt the fries could have been cooked a tad longer. The curds lacked the squeak (perhaps cause the gravy melted it?).

A bit confusing on the set up of the restaurant inside the Milanos. Was given a weird look when inquired if I was in the right place. Regulars definitely knew (and were treated very well) but for newcomers the interaction was…just awkward. Plus during my visit, there seemed to be some kerfuffle between front of the house and the back (cooks) – things customers shouldn’t really hear yelled back and forth in public in English. Disgruntled conversations (calling personnel lazy etc) should be held in the back room and in private.

May comeback to try the cheesesteak. But probably more to go as the vibe was just not there…

Simply put – it’s mid.

Expanding on the above statement – it was certainly an Italian dysfunctional family kind of vibe. The uncles and nieces were speaking loudly and passionately to each other about things that each other were doing wrong and stuff they needed to do before the boss came back (George). It was actually quite entertaining to view them all work together. The food was meh – it’s on the pricer side. $22 for the Philly cheesesteak. The cheese was certainly different. It was stuffed with meat which was a positive. I think my main issue is that the buns were wet and soggy. The flavour of the burger patties were pretty average – nothing stood out. With all the influencing on social medial I expected more of this place.

Went for dinner on a weekday, and it happened to be super busy since it was Remembrance Day. The place is set up inside Milano Pizzeria (same owner runs both), and it has a classic diner vibe. They were sold out of the Philly steak subs, so we tried the Skinny Burger, the Spicy Burger, the poutine, and the shoestring fries. The food did take a while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait—everything was juicy, flavorful, and fresh. Our waitress, Kelly, was fantastic and handled the rush really well. We’ll definitely be back to try the subs next time!
Overall rating 4.5/5

The best burger in town — absolutely delicious and smells amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back.

To be honest, the concept was a bit confusing at first. I walked in thinking I was at Milano Pizzeria, but they assured me I was in the right place. I was also a little disappointed I couldn’t try the Philly Cheese since it’s only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

But most importantly — the food is fantastic, and that alone makes it worth returning.
