I wanted to like this place. My daughter’s grilled cheese was barely toasted and the cheese wasn’t melted, Texas toast was a regular piece of extremely burnt bread, meats were super dry and flavorless, and they didn’t have most of the foods I’d expect from a BBQ such as okra, fries, cornbread, smoked chicken, etc. No fryer either so some of these items aren’t even possible. Combos didn’t come with drinks. Really disappointing overall. 🙁

We ordered the Small Feast, which comes with a pound of burnt ends, and our experience had some highs and lows.
Burnt Ends:
These weren’t quite what we expected. They were a bit chewy and heavily sauced — it seemed like they were going for a glazed finish, but it ended up a little overpowering. With a lighter touch, these could be really good.
Mac & Cheese:
Creamy but mild. It could use a bit more seasoning or sharpness to stand out.
Potato Salad:
Really good! Fresh, flavorful, and definitely the standout side of the meal.
Overall:
There’s a lot of potential here, and with a couple of tweaks this could be a great feast. We appreciated the variety and are hopeful for a more balanced flavor next time.

We ordered the shredded pork meal deal for four people. It came with a pound of pork, two sides and four rolls. The pork was delicious . We had coleslaw and mashed potatoes. The coleslaw didn’t have any flavor, so seasoning at all. The mashed were ok. The bbq sauce tasted like ketchup. My husband said it was bbq for kids. Very safe. Maybe we had the wrong sauce? We weren’t given a choice online. The delivery was very fast and the prices were good, but I dont think I would eat there again.

I was really happy to see a new BBQ spot open up in the old Dickey’s location. I take my BBQ seriously and I want this place to do well because Brighton needs a local smokehouse.
The Food:
If you were a fan of the previous Dickey’s, you will find this very familiar.
The Good: The Texas Toast was solid, and the brisket was tender with good flavor, though a little on the dry side (might just be the time of day I went).
Room for Improvement: The ribs were tender but felt a bit like “oven ribs”—I was really missing that deep smoke flavor. The sauce is tasty but very sweet; it could use a bit more smoky heat to balance out the sugar.
Sides: The beans and corn are decent sides, but felt a little standard.
The Service:
This is the main area that needs attention for this place to really thrive.
The young man at the register seemed very distracted during my visit—he was more focused on chatting with his coworker than handling the food care. He packed the bag loosely, and the containers tipped and spilled inside. When I mentioned the spill, he didn’t seem to realize it was an issue and went back to his conversation.
However, the young lady working with him was excellent. She was focused, hardworking, and carried the front-of-house.

I love smoked meat and this place has the best. I really loved the street corn too. I guess with a new restaurant you never know how it will be, this place knocked it out of the park. If you go get the iced tea, don’t know what they do but it’s the best I’ve had. Definitely will go back!
