BLT was great. They cooked the bacon when the sandwich was ordered so it was nice and fresh! The lady next to us at the counter was enjoying her small burger so much I had to try one. OMG I see why she was enjoying it so much. YUM. The crincle cut fries were really good and I usually don’t like crickle cut fries. It was a little hard to find the location. We drove by it and turned around that is when we saw the sign by the road. The building did not have a sign that I could see. But well worth the effort to get there. If you want good food I definitely recommend!

While in Powell, we found this nastalgic lil jem!!! Not only do they still have the old school green menu tablets to take hand-written orders, they also have vintage stool seating at the counter when you walk-in, huge menu on top of the wall right over the grill, limited booth & table seating (definitely worth the wait), and the cleanest, cutest lil bathrooms round town!!! Excellent breakfast place! No pre-made here! All menu items are made-to-order. Service was with a smile, cups of coffee were never low or cold! Definitely recommend if y’all are in the area!!!

I have to admit that I didnt eat anything here. The rest of my party did and they liked it a lot. The place is very clean, cleaner than I expected from the outside. The prices are great to. But I can’t give 5 stars because no one preparing any food wore gloves. Touching buns and vegetables with no gloves. They also cracked eggs on the surface where they cut vegetables like lettuce and tomatoes. They probably don’t know that salmonella can be on the shell of the egg. The service is very slow. They make one order at a time. Overall if you don’t mind your food that doesnt need to be cooked being touched with bare hands, this place is a good choice.

This is absolutely the best and most affordable place to eat in Powell. They will serve you breakfast, lunch, and dinner any time of the day. I had the “big” cheese burger all the way with chopped onions and crinkle fries. The cheese burger was twice the size at a burger joint(i.e McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Freddie’s. And half the price. My total bill was $9. Their breakfast food is second to none. If you haven’t been, you’re missing a real treat. P.S. Cash only.

We support local whenever we can. Scottie’s is the type of place we specifically seek out while traveling. Upon walking through the door, I just knew this was going to be a home run experience, but that changed soon after taking a seat at the counter in front of the griddle.

The old school ambiance, classic menu board, and friendliness of everyone there was exactly what you expect from a classic diner.

My fiancee and I ordered a basic breakfast – eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. My fiancee wanted biscuits and gravy, but supposedly their gravy is homemade and sells out quickly. No problem there espiecally since the menu says that once it sells out then that’s it for the day. Also on the menu it listed one dessert, “Scottie’s Famous Honey Bun”. That sounded interesting and I told my fiancee that we should try one as I have never had a homemade honey bun before.

We were about 6 tickets back so we knew it would be a bit of a wait – no problem. With one lady cooking and a griddle smaller than our Blackstone at home it was expected.

That’s when things turned from a great expierence to a serious health code violation. We sat at the counter for about 45 minutes watching in horror as the cook over and over again grabbed uncooked meat with her bare hands – hamburger patties, sausage, and bacon – and immediately afterwards touching ready-to-eat foods. The whole time we were there, not one employee wore gloves or washed their hands. Burger patties were being pulled out with bare hands and immediately after those same unwashed hands were pulling out ready-to-eat buns. Same deal with the breakfast meats and then immediately touching toasted bread. The place seems very clean overall, but the cross contamination was very unsettling.

Their famous honey bun ended up being a Mrs. Freshlies packaged honey bun that you can get in any convinence store that they throw on the griddle and slab a little butter on. Nothing homemade or famous about that. We paid, left a generous tip for the excellant service, and got our meal to go. Wasn’t going to take the chance of getting seriously sick.

We also witnessed the cook make a meal for another patron and then ate his leftovers with bare hands without washing and immediately go back to touching others food. Make sure you have a good immune system before you decide to eat at Scotties.

I’m sad to say I am just now trying this gem but it was a guys evening so with my boys and nephew we decided to give it a go. Don’t be in a hurry and it’s not because of slow service those ladies were working hard they are popular. It’s a small space but it felt as if we had been there a million times. The food was outstanding and can’t wait to go again. Oh it’s cash only and since I could not see the huge sign going in they were gracious and laughing as my 20 year old nephew bailed us out paying for the bill.

The food was very good. We got a big cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, chicken fries, onion rings, fries, and honey bun. Everything was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I’ve grown very accustomed to feeling disappointment with restaurants these days. I must say, everything was better than I expected and the prices are awesome. The honey bun is AMAZING. I could easily buy a whole box of those. Our server was extremely polite, quick, and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be back!
