We had a Year of the Dragon cocktail. Strawberry, fresh squeezed lemonade, and vodka. It was a great compliment to the spicy mustard. The homemade Spicy mustard, and sweet and sour sauce were delicious. The spicy mustard is a horseradish mustard that packs a great punch up front and then backs off so you can still taste your food. The combination platter was a great way to start—some of the best shrimp tempura we’ve had, a delicious beef stick, a unique chick stick, and some of the best crab ragoons I’ve ever had. The egg roll wasn’t my favorite, but it was still good. As for our entrees, the kung Pao beef was with peanut, crispy water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, crunchy green bell peppers, and peanut sauce with a spicy bite. The hung sue was even better, the tempura on the chicken was amazing and it had mushrooms and snap peas in addition to bamboo and chestnuts.
Cons: it’s a little difficult to find parking. We ended up parking on the street behind a ways. Also, the rice was a little dry? Like it’d been sitting in a pot for awhile. But once you smothered it in the sauce it was great.
Other than that, no cons at all. It was SPECTACULAR!
I am now gluten free, so appreciated that my container was clearly marked.
The chicken fried rice was really good.
The staff were really nice.
I know this place was voted #1 in 2018 and 2019, but something must have happened during COVID. My Mongolian beef was mostly bamboo shoots. WHERE’S THE BEEF? I’m not a panda.
The sesame chicken was chewy, and about 1/3rd of the container was broccoli, and it was all at the bottom so it looked like the whole container was chicken.
The egg rolls and crab Rangoon tasted like they came from a freezer pack.
Update – we appreciate the response. Unfortunately we know for a fact the call was made no more than 10-15 minutes before the other group arrived. As for sticking around to speak with the owner, he was busy speaking with the group in question. Yes, we decided to leave after informing the two hostesses and they also could have contacted the owner or work with us but all they could say is that a table still wasn’t ready. Again, we appreciate the response but will have to agree to disagree.
Appetizers
Combination platter, came in a big bowl, with a little fire. The combination platter had 1 egg roll, 2 crab ragoon, 1 beef on a stick, 1 chicken on a stick, 1 fried shrimp. Everything tasted great, the best were the crab ragoon and fried shrimp.
Main entree
Honey Walnut Shrimp, fried shrimp tossed in a mayo sauce on a bed of steamed broccoli, drizzled with honey and topped with candied walnuts.
The broccoli was still very green, fresh and crisp, not overcooked, big pieces of broccoli. The shrimp were deep fried, large, sweet and crunchy, tossed in a mayo sauce. This was a weird combination. Everything tasted great but I preferred each ingredient on their own.
