Wonderful staff and establishment!! My gf and I stayed there over the weekend and couldn’t have been happier. Our cabin (cabin 5) was cleaner than ANY hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The ambience of the brook running behind the cabin was wonderful. The furnishings and decor of the cabin hit so many nostalgia buttons for us both that it was almost overwhelming at times. It felt like we were staying the weekend at grandma’s house. We ate 3 of our meals at the adjoining restaurant, Ava again, so many nostalgia buttons. All of the food, from what we could tell, was freshly made from scratch and perfect. And then there’s the wonderful staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. It really made us sad to have to leave. It felt like we were among family. I seriously can’t recommend Brookside any higher. If it were possible, I think we’d make this at least a yearly destination. Thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful stay and sending us home with so many wonderful memories…

We stopped in at the restaurant for a late lunch. We found that they serve a buffet option and it provided a very solid selection of great food including a desert bar. With a group of 4 preteen/tweens this was a great option as everyone found things they liked and enjoyed as much as they wanted.

Cutr little spot nestled at the foothills of the mountain. There are several tiny cabins and a restaurant on the premises. They even have peacocks! We dined in for dinner and opted for the dinner buffet and salad bar. Everything was as expected. You can expect southern style cuisine here. There’s an adorable brook behind the restaurant. Next time, we will stay at a cabin and try out the breakfast and report back.

This was our second trip to the Brookside Restaurant and loved it. In fact we brought our entire family the second time.
Both trips we had the buffet. The first one was Brunch and the second time it was for Sunday Dinner.
The food that’s on the buffet is amazing, good ole southern home cooking. The fried chicken alone is worth the trip.
The salad bar is also full of fresh produce and home made salads.
The service and staff were very nice. This is a great place to check out and worth the trip.

The restaurant brought back memories of my childhood, it’s homey and the food is good. The service was warm and fast! I am vegan so it’s difficult to find places I can eat. I chose the garden salad and sweet potato fries. They were both delicious!

Beautiful place close to the entrance to Shenandoah Skyline drive. We were on our way from Luray caverns when we stopped by at the first restaurant we saw. Awesome food, beautiful ambience and amazing people. Would definitely recommend this place. The surroundings were really beautiful. There was a buffet in session but we opted to order separately. Had a cheeseburger which was awesome, some chicken strips, Mozzarella sticks, cheese fries and a lemonade. There was even a peacock cage behind the restaurant.

The food at this place is absolutely remarkable. We got the seafood platter, chicken fried steak, and blackberry cobbler (a MUST have). Everything was outstanding, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Our waitress (Rebecca) was especially friendly. This place is a must when you are in the area!

This was my very first time eating at this restaurant in Luray Virginia and I was very satisfied with the food and it tasted very delicious and had a good variety on the menu and on the buffet bar and I would always suggest going to it and I do plan on going back to the restaurant if I’m in the area again.

The buffet we really good They had fried chicken lasagna and even fried shrimp and the salad bar which was pretty good, there were several different desert pies and cakes to choose from oh don’t forget to check out the peacocks and gift shop. Great end to our mother daughter getaway weekend.
