We are here visiting for a wedding and stopped to have some pizza and Italian food ! The value was fantastic and the food was delicious. The garlic bread was delicious and hot. Baked ziti 10/10. If you came for Philly but stayed in New Jersey, you should come eat here !

FOOD
Typical pizza and restaurant options.
Meals include garlic bread, soup and salad. Cream of mushroom was tremendous; not watery like most, with just enough salt. Garlic bread which is my Achilles Heel was meh! The seasoning and garlic butter was haphazardly spread. Saved me space for the excellent main course.
Chicken Parm. Always my go-to in a new restaurant for me. This did not disappoint. Nice portion, Chicken was tender, sauce (or gravy) flavorful, over a plate of capellini, which in itself did not disappoint. Tender pasta which did not clump together.
BYOB.
SERVICE
Thank you Robin. Pleasant, friendly, and super efficient.
ATMOSPHERE
It looked a bit nicer than your typical strip mall pizza place from outside; colorful signage. Inside, the decor was cute and homey. It was bigger than I expected and the booth the four of us were seated, was roomy.
We were sat quickly. Mid-week summer. I’m told it’s a line out the door in the non-summer months. Guess I’ll be bringing a book, cuz we’ll definitely be back.

Sal and Joes is one of the best Italian Restaurants in NJ!!! My family has been going there since the late 80s, maybe before. The food is amazing and delish!!! The ambience is cozy! And you will fall in love with their garlic bread- sooooo good! !!!

Great neighborhood eatery with an extensive Italian cuisine. Tonight we continued on our journey to find the best Chicken Parm and Pasta Pescatore. Good. But not outstanding. What is outstanding is that you get Garlic Bread, House Salad and Soup of the Day before your entree! I’m stuffed! The Lentil soup and the Zucchini soup were excellent. The House Salad comes with house dressing or creamy Italian. Both are light and fresh. No room for Tiramisu or Cannolis so better take that home!

I ordered Christmas dinner for a local family and our police officers because our family enjoys their food. While dropping off the food at the police station the officers said “We love Sal and Joes.” I then dropped off the dinner to a local family in need and heard ,”OMG, they have the best food.” The staff and manager could not have been more kind throughout the process. Sal and Joe’s has delicious food and wonderful people working there. They have been a blessing this season, and if possible please support them. We need this kind of business in the world.

We are a firm of 25 hungry accountants and we LOVE Sal & Joe’s Pizza. We will be ordering regularly through tax season! They are great to work with and bend over backwards to do whatever they can for us. Highly recommend!

If I could give more stars, I would! We sat in the truck after and talked about how perfect everything was before we drove away. Thank you for a beautiful experience for our mid-afternoon lunch!

I am sad to say this place (a local staple) has become, complacent. I have eaten here a dozen times over the years, and it has consistently gotten worse. Yesterday will be the last time this establishment gets my hard earned money and it really pains me to write this as I am in the restaurant business myself. This place has slipping standards and appears to cater to regulars. They had a calamari special last night so we decided to try that. RUBBER, completely inedible by all four of us at the table. When the waitress finally offered to take it off the table after paper napkins had been crumbled on it, she asked if we were done. My husband jokingly said he was still chewing the first piece and I followed up with, yeah..we didn’t care for it too much (the whole entire plate was intact besides maybe 5 total rings. The waitress briefly said sorry as she turned her head and walked away with it. My daughters friend and I basically had the same dish (stuffed shells and manicotti). Both tasted as if they had been frozen prior, the ricotta was very grainy. My adult sized manicotti dish, had TWO manicotti and was over $20. My husbands chicken broccoli alfredo was so bland, the sauce tasted like it consisted of mostly cream. He had to add a ton of shake cheese, pepper and salt just to eat maybe 1/3 of it. The salads, one of which she forgot in the back until right before our food came out, had the wrong dressing. We ended up with the house dressing and it was literally water and vinegar, no oil. There was so much water in my salad bowl it made no sense. My daughter got the “special” hoagie. Which is like an Italian and that was very good, EXCEPT she asked for oil, vinegar, and mayo and NONE of that made it onto the hoagie and her and the waitress had a whole funny conversation about it. One of the worst things besides the food was the service. The waitress only came over to drop off food. She never came back to check on us. We had to flag an older lady down who was walking around every time we had a problem. You can tell they cater to regulars and spend a lot of time on their phones right at the register or standing in view of the customers. When the check came, the calamari was still on there. Also, the pasta dishes were supposed to be $2 off each dish per a sign out front for their specials. None of that appeared on my check. I just paid and left and still tipped the server well. We will drive to Santini’s in Sewell next time. Excellent food and service.

ALWAYS a great choice. The hard part is that the menu has so many delicious options it’s hard to choose. Just like eating at Grandma’s You will not leave here hungry. Entrees come with soup AND a salad. The staff is friendly and attentive. The timing was perfect. We were just finishing our salad when the entree came out. Not rushed, just perfect. Limited seating outside and lots of room inside.

Pizza was good but we had trouble getting the correct order via the slice app. Ordered a large mushroom pie and added pepperoni to the whole pie for $4. Received a large pie with mushrooms only on one side and pepperoni only on the other. Asked to be refunded for the extra topping since the pizza had only one topping (one on each side). They refunded $2 instead of $4. Not sure why all the confusion about what we ordered and what we received, but they seemed to be confused on both counts. Unfortunate bc the pizza was great.
