My husband and I had such a great time at Aztec Dave’s Cantina in Humboldt Park! From the moment we sat down, our server was absolutely amazing. Even though a spicy mango margarita wasn’t officially on the menu, they went out of their way to make one for me—and it was DELICIOUS! The mango flavor was bold and intense, and the spicy jalapeño-infused rum balanced the sweet and tangy mango perfectly. It was easily one of the best margaritas I’ve had.
We both ordered the taco dinner. He chose the chicken tacos, and I went with al pastor, chicken mole, and birria—with a side of fried jalapeños (because why not?). I devoured the al pastor and chicken mole, and although I was too full to finish the birria, it made for an amazing take-home treat. The rice and beans were flavorful and the perfect complement to the meal.
Great service, delicious food, and an unforgettable margarita—we’ll definitely be back!

I did not dine in but got guacamole and tacos delivered to eat at home. I will for sure make the effort to come and dine in, those tacos were dynamite. The guacamole (while a bit pricy at $15) was delicious and I ate all of it. Yum yum yum!

Get ready to be transported the moment you step into this vibrant Mexican cantina. You’re immediately greeted by stunning Aztec art, and including one of my personal favorites, El Gallo Negro! (If you know, you know!) The host makes you feel right at home, and the servers are not only fast but also incredibly knowledgeable.
The drinks are absolutely on point. I especially loved my Paloma, which came with chile sprinkles perfectly placed on the side – a brilliant touch that prevents the usual messy rim! Why don’t more places do this?
Now, let’s talk about the food. Every plate I saw looked delicious, making it so hard to choose! I ended up going with the three-taco dinner: Shrimp Guajillo, Beer-Battered Shrimp, and Birria with a side of consommé (a definite must-have!). All three were fantastic. The pineapple salsa was a great complement to the shrimp tacos, and when I asked for more heat, they brought out another chile that perfectly enhanced the birria and consommé. My dining companions also raved about their tacos, especially the Birria Queso, which was perfectly crunchy and loaded with cheese, just as it should be.
I’ve been going to West Fest for five years, and this cantina is officially going on my must-visit list for after the festival. What a great experience and even better food!

I was looking for a place for lunch and happened to find Aztec Dave’s — and I’m so glad I did! All I can say is WOW. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was absolutely awesome, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming and spotless. Even the bathrooms were clean, which always says a lot.

The burrito? Pure smoky goodness. The hospitality? Next level. They ran out of Espolón, so I got an upgrade shot, plus another free shot and a free margarita thanks to a bartender’s “oops.” If they were trying to bribe me, consider it mission accomplished . Fast, tasty, friendly—basically an A+ experience. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience ordering delivery from Aztec Dave’s Cantina. We were out at Burning Bush Brewery on Rockwell and placed a delivery order. The original delivery time passed so we called the restaurant and Dave himself answered the phone. He said our order was ready for pick-up and when realizing the delivery driver was delayed he committed to driving the order up to us himself! The food was still hot when it arrived and very tasty. The Birria consumé was super tasty as well as the Asada burrito. Will absolutely order from here again!

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon with my daughter and it is amazing! Food is phenomenal, drinks are delicious and the portions are very generous. The bartender, Eric, is very attentive and super sweet. Seriously, what a wonderful neighborhood gem; I grew up and still live in Humboldt park – this place has to be top 3 Mexican restaurants in the area, hands down! We will most definitely be back and will bring friends!!!!!

The BEST taco place in West Town!! Their margaritas are all made with delicious fresh squeezed juice, their house hot sauce and mole turn everything into a feast. Couldn’t love this place more:)
