Being semi-new year-round residents of Gulf Shores, we were so looking forward to finding good Chinese. I realize it’s the low season (I have Iived at other beaches year round). My husband stated that his was decent, typical run of the mill. I thought it would be more than mediocre take-out Chinese. Especially, since it is a FSR (full-service restaurant). Very clean. Service was great. However, we won’t be back. Other customers left reviews that they highly enjoyed, which is great. Unfortunately, I would not recommend. I do wish the very best for this establishment.

My husband and I visited our mom and dad in Orange Beach and decided to have lunch at a local Chinese restaurant called China Dragon. What a fantastic choice! We ordered four appetizers, three entrees, and a dessert, and every single dish was absolutely amazing. Owners are super friendly as well!
The first thing that caught our attention was the beautiful decor. The restaurant’s classic Chinese architectural design, paired with the thoughtful display of traditional instruments on the walls, created an inviting and authentic atmosphere.
Our top recommendations: the firecracker shrimp, seafood shumai, and pork spring rolls—each bite was perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. My husband couldn’t get enough of their orange chicken, pot stickers, shrimp with lobster sauce, and house special fried rice—all classic dishes done to perfection.
Though we were full, we couldn’t resist trying the sesame balls for dessert, and they didn’t disappoint! The taste brought back fond memories of my hometown in China.
The food, authenticity, and warm hospitality made our family trip even more special. China Dragon will be our go-to spot for Chinese food whenever we visit Orange Beach again. Highly recommend!

My daughter, myself and grandkids tried this Chinese restaurant today and were so glad we did. The food was fresh and excellent. We had to wait a bit for the food but was well worth the wait.

Food was yummy and the restaurant was quiet so the service was prompt. Since the restaurant was empty and we were the only guests it felt a bit awkward as there was no music playing and our conversation could be heard throughout.

We enjoyed our dinner July 6 2025. It was amazing taste, freshly cooked, and served hot. . The wonton soup flavor was outstanding. We loved the spring rolls and crab rangoons as well. This was our first time visiting and will be back. The staff was pleasant and kept checking on us. We ordered the general chicken dinner (pictured) and the honey orange chicken. Can’t wait to eplore the menu on our next visit.
