The server was nice, and attentive. The salsa is very bland and watery. So disappointing. However, the pineapple fajita did not disappoint! It was delicious (even without salsa), and there was plenty of it. Looks like the place needs a real good cleaning. Been a few years since I’ve seen a COVID 19 sign still up.

Very cool decorations. Each table was beautifully painted with different images. The atmosphere alone kept one entertained, which was good considering the slow service. The food was subpar and somewhat bland. I had 2 chimichangas – the chicken was good, but the beef one tasted like an American pot roast with no Mexican authenticity whatsoever. I will say it was nice to find a restaurant open on Monday, since all others in the area were closed.

My husband and I were visiting the area and stopped here for dinner. We ordered the El Mariachi Special. The meal was delicious, and it’s a very generous portion! The serving dish has a deep bowl, so my picture doesn’t accurately depict the amount of food. I have included a picture of just how much we had leftover. We had enough for dinner the next day. Great value! We would dine here again when in the area.

I have reviewed this wonderful Mexican restaurant before and decided four stars was fair. However, after dining there again, I have to say that they have elevated themselves to a new level. The place was hopping and the atmosphere was laughs and respect. I saw clear leadership of the restaurant staff which transfers to great service and excellent authentic Mexican food. I will add that this Mexican restaurant has taken a small old basement space and transformed it into a story telling atmosphere. If you happen to be lucky enough to visit when the restaurant is at a lull, then ask about some of the paintings you may see and expect some cool history and culture. Albion is very blessed to have this business and it is worth a stop for the unique taste of Mexico.

We eat a lot of Mexican food across the country. Some good, some bad, most meh.
El Mariachi is great. We got the Molcajete Special which was a delightful mixture of shrimp, bacon, steak, and chicken with lots of delicious veggies. Wonderful. I think it would feed at least 3 hearty appetites, but we ate 6 good helpings.
I must say this was an unassuming small-town Mexican place with attractive decorations.

Amazing food! Great drinks and friendly staff. We had the Hawaiian fajitas and the seafood fajitas. Both had great flavor and were phenomenal! We will definitely be back again.

I LOVE this place. I can’t wait to go back! I ordered a LOT of food my first time. 2 enchiladas, 2 chimichangas(1 beef 1 chicken all covered in queso blanco) with a side of rice and beans, 2 tamales, chori fries(which is their version of chili cheese fries but with chorizo and white cheese), and a HUGE plate of nachos for like $50. ALL delicious. Seriously the best Mexican food I’ve had since I’ve been to Mexico. The service was great for the employees not speaking the best English, they were very nice and 10/10 recommend. This is my new favorite restaurant.
