Only one person was serving the guests.
She was both the cashier and the waitress. Initially, we wanted to buy one coffee to go, but the interior of the place was very nice, so we decided to stay.
At the counter, we ordered a latte, green tea, and a cinnamon bun. I asked to divide the cinnamon bun into two parts, as I wasn’t hungry and we planned to share it.
We waited for our order for about 15 minutes.
Although preparing coffee, tea, and serving an already prepared cinnamon bun should probably take significantly less time, given the low occupancy of the cafe. The waitress was literally “floundering.”
As a result, we were served black tea in a cardboard cup at the temperature of molten lava.
Although I ordered green tea .
I also mentioned that we would be staying in the cafe. So, serving tea in a cardboard cup is considered normal there.
The cinnamon bun was brought on one plate, uncut and without cutlery.
The cinnamon bun was terribly dry. You could even say it was stale and completely tasteless. It wasn’t sweet, and it lacked the characteristic cinnamon smell. Most likely, it had been sitting on the display for more than one or several days.
The service was slow.
The cinnamon bun was dry and tasteless.
The tea served was black, not green.
Drinks for guests inside the cafe are served in cardboard cups, like in a fast-food joint.
The price for coffee, tea, and a cinnamon bun was around $18, which is generally acceptable for a good cafe in Miami with good service.
In the end, I was served not brewed tea, but the cheapest tea from a tea bag.
The tea bag with the company’s label and logo was floating in the cup; that is, they completely threw the tea bag into the cup with the string and label still attached.
The pastries and Cinnabon were served on a plate without cutlery. After we asked for cutlery, they only brought one fork, after which we had to ask the waiter again to bring a full set of cutlery and a proper plate.
The Cinnabon was placed on the plate with the same hands that had just handled money.
I understand that you can’t expect high-quality service from an American establishment, but this is perhaps the worst experience I’ve ever had in US.
This isn’t even an average cafe, but a very bad dive. I strongly advise against visiting this cafe.
Don’t be fooled by the interior.
The service will be worse than in a fast-food joint.
The customer service was lacking. I ordered their popular café breakfast bowl, which was good overall except for the bacon. I also ordered a medium matcha, but it was closer to a small size. Overall, my first experience wasn’t very impressive.
I recently discovered Café del Alma and was absolutely impressed! The atmosphere is super cozy, with a clean and modern decor that brings a sense of calm. The cleanliness of the space and kitchen is impeccable, which gave me even more confidence in the quality of the food.
The food is simply amazing! I tried the Avocado Toast Duo and the Yogurt Bowl — both delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is diverse, offering everything from specialty coffees to healthy bowls and irresistible croissants.
Service is friendly and efficient, and the iPad ordering system makes the whole experience even more convenient. The place is spacious, with well-distributed tables — perfect for a relaxing brunch or a midday break.
If you’re in Miami and looking for a charming café with excellent food and a welcoming vibe, I highly recommend Café del Alma!
I ordered a breakfast wrap which obviously has eggs. Service was quick, I got my food and took two bites and realized there was no egg inside. Being upset as I paid $20 for a very verytiny sandwich and had no eggs, I simply told the gentlemen at the cashier ” hey its no big deal, but you guys forgot the eggs” . Remember I took two bites ..
Then I had a cook or a manager come up to me with some serious attitude and tell me that I had already taken a bite and that it was my fault somehow for making this mistake and then brushed me off scolding asking why I took two bites out of my food and said it’s fine ill make a new wrap for you. Its a wrap, obviously I didn’t want to look like an idiot before inspecting if maybe the egg was stuffed in the back of the sandwich.
I was so appalled, I just told her to refund me. Imagine someone ruining my breakfast with unacceptable and unnecessary attitude and then scold me for taking a bite out of the breakfast sandwich that I ordered with NO EGGS??? I was very polite and respectful until the manager had to make me feel like it was my fault for the staff making the wrong dish.
Long story short I paid $50 for a tiny cup of matcha and coffee and one croissant and had my Brunch ruined by some girl with serious attitude who doesn’t understand the restaurant business. I will be disputing with my credit card processor for ripping me off
