We got the spicy combo dish and takoyaki. The rolls were made quickly and were delicious. The takoyaki was hot coming out and it was perfect. Our waitress was so sweet and made me feel very comfortable.

Happy we stumbled across this gem. We came for lunch on a slow Tuesday. We were kindly greeted at the door and sat promptly. The order was quick and we received really flavorful miso upon arrival. The sushi roll preparation wasn’t my favorite, but the scallops inside were good. Both my ramen and gfs udon were really good. Flavorful and good spice levels. The seafood was slightly tough in my ramen, but the beef in the udon was fantastic. Overall a really pleasant experience and a nice spot in Ann Arbor.

We waited an hour and a half for our food, and unfortunately, when it finally arrived, it wasn’t even good. What made it worse was the lack of communication. Our waiter only approached our table about three times in the two hours we were there and seemed hesitant to even come over.
We kept being told “10 minutes” or “1 minute,” which eventually turned into an hour. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. Staff repeatedly apologized for the wait but never offered a clear explanation for what was actually causing the delay.
The highest compensation offered was a 20% discount, which we were told was the best they could do. As we were leaving, a staff member tried to bag our food to-go. I politely declined, but she caused a scene insisting we take it.
Won’t be returning. Extremely disappointed that this situation was handled poorly.

Edit: Unfortunately the Katsu pork curry here has gone downhill with cuts being thinner and thinner. The yellowtail sashimi wasn’t fresh either, and I got diarrhea after dining here. One star deducted.
The owner was a kind Korean lady and the kitchen was mostly Latino. Their food tastes decent but was definitely unauthentic and a bit overpriced. Katsu curry was the best in town, with a thick pork cutlet, but came with a price of $18. Sushi was Americanized and ok-ish. They provided complimentary miso soups, but those were premade and supermarket-quality. The lights were weirdly blue-purple and felt unsettling.

went recently bc japanese restaurant here w the least waiting time… they always forget something in my rolls ; no scallion in yt scallion roll, no crab salad in rainbow roll (just avocado and cucumber☠️), egg shell in a ramen. i always have something come up everytime i go.

Decent food and nice staff, with a campus restaurant feel. Overall, the food is pretty good, although the sashimi I had was a little all over the board. I was also less than impressed with the Mama Satto Ramen, but the bao was tasty. The prices seem a bit high for the quality of food, and even though I knew about the 18% automatic gratuity ahead of time, I was still put off by it. I would much rather see higher prices on the menu than have an extra charge hidden on the check (labeled “surcharge”), with a prompt below for a tip, and no indication that the tip was already priced in. Just seems a bit shady to me, and although I’m not a fan of the tipping system in America, I don’t think this is an improvement. In general, I think there are much better places in town for both sushi and ramen, and I would much rather support those places.

Genuinely it doesn’t get better for Ramen in Ann Arbor. They have quite a few options for types of soups (Ramen, Udon, Soba, Etc) and every one I have tried is incredible. Their sushi is also quite good and the bao buns are perfect to share. The atmosphere is relaxed though it can get a bit loud during the Friday/Saturday dinner rush. I’ve gone once a month since I discovered it and have never been disappointed! They do include an 18% tip on the bill, but it makes sense for a college town and makes it so you don’t have to worry about tipping!

A decent sushi and ramen place. The sushi is mediocre. It isn’t had by all means, but the portions were not generous and the taste isn’t spectacular. The ramen is alright, but the noodles lack chewy resiliency. The spicy soup isn’t bad. The flavors are pretty good.
