Such a hidden gem! I’m a Texan working in town and this will be hands down my spot for the entire work contract. The gentleman was super welcoming and fun to talk to. Likely the best tacos in town! I tried one of each meat type. Honestly all 3 were very good, hard to pick a favorite but maybe lean towards the Al Pastor. The hot sauce that accompanied them had a nice heat level and 1 cup was sufficient for 4 tacos. Will definitely be back!

Hernandez is not just the best place in Sioux Falls to get amazing Mexican food, it is one of the best in the country! I can confidently and honestly say that I’ve been here more than 30 times and it has NEVER once disappointed. Every time we eat here I think there’s no way it can live up to last time, but somehow continues to do so over and over and over again. The only trouble I have is deciding which of their menu items to get because they are ALL outstanding! Grew up in SoCal and had the best tacos in many cities including KC Philly Minneapolis Orlando Daytona Beach Vegas and all over California and the Midwest and this is the best flavor I’ve ever experienced. I’m also an expert (self professed ) on sandwiches, and the Turpido is hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had ANYwhere… whether it’s Asada or Al Pastor. simply amazing people and amazing food! Bring ALL your cash! Thank you Hernandez!!!!

Went there because the ratings were so high. We ordered steak tacos, but it was not good. The meat had big chunks of grizzle. And the meat was not cut in uniform sizes. Some of our tacos had huge strips of meat, while others were normal sizes. And the home made tortillas were way too thick. We didn’t finish them.

Stopped in again, had steak tacos and got a order of manudo. It all was delicious!! Everyone there are great, & friendly! Picked up a bag of the tortillas this time too. Can’t wait to try them!

I asked to get a small sample of the menudo. The owner ended up giving me a partial bowl of it. I loved it, so I bought an order.
The tortillas they make are amazing & have a very fair price! Highly recommend at stop in for fresh food & corn tortillas!!!

This was my second time here and I decided to try the Turpido this time after reading good reviews. I am so glad I tried this because it was so delicious and they put a good amount of meat!!! This really is my favorite Taqueria I’ve tried in Sioux Falls. The first time I came I got asada tacos and those were amazing as well.
Edit: Tried the asada burrito today and man it was another hit! So freaking good. I have not been disappointed in anything I’ve ordered here.
Just keep in mind there is nowhere to sit and eat inside and they take cash only, no debit or credit. Everyone was super friendly when I came in. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Great spot for tacos in Sioux Falls. Was coming to town for the marathon from Chicago with my wife and we stopped by here and grabbed some tacos and a burrito. Was blown away by the quality of the tortillas and steak. They make their tortillas by hand and don’t skimp on the portion sizes. The burrito I had is one of the best I’ve ever had. If you live in the area or visiting Sioux Falls, definitely stop by and give them a try.
