At our Hueytown, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered a supreme platter and got 2 piece of fish with cole slaw. It was supposed to be with 2 additional piece of chicken and 6 butterfly shrimp. They also charged me $.99 cent for not even 10 pieces of okra which was supposed to be included. Got charged 3.09 for a medium drink. No forks to eat the coke slaw. So we got 1 puce of fish each. I was very disappointed!!! The meal was 18.67.

I went through the drive -thru, I spent $19 for two people and the portions were so small. The catfish didn’t look right, and the okra was severely undercooked. Once I looked in the boxes I ended up having to go back inside and let the staff know of the issue. The cook was notified and he came from the back to the front. He proceeds to ask what the problem was which I explained the above. He said that the okra is how he always cooks it because he doesn’t want it overcooked and too crunchy with no regard to the okras appearance which screamed undone. I also mentioned the fish, and he offered to cook another piece and the okra. Once he returned both looked almost identical to what I already had in the boxes. I digressed, and got a refund back for the catfish dinner. It wasn’t worth the money or the time I spent in the drive thru or on the inside fighting about it. Next time I’m looking for fish, I will look into other food establishment. This food trip was a waste of time and money.

My husband went to pick up dinner tonight. All of out food looked tossed around in our plates. It looks like they almost dropped it before bringing it out. The service has become worse since the rebuild. My husband hates for his wet and dry food to touch. His plate has the fries on it. Smh. I will not be back to this location any time soon.

We ordered on online. We went through the drive thru. It took awhile before anyone said anything, they told us to drive to the window then maybe after a three minute wait we got our food. They didn’t mess up our order and they even gave us extra sauces.

I stay in Hueytown so I decided to go to the Captain D’s in Hueytown instead of the one that I always go to in BESSEMER man the food was really bad the GM was very rude The only thing good thing about the Captain D’s in Hueytown was seeing the little white manager that they had from the Captain D’s in Bessemer if they had more manager like that then they would have way way more customers coming back that’s way Hueytown has a bad name for it’s self so all I can say is come on now Hueytown step it up.
