As an ex-chef from a 3 Michelin star restaurant, I’m always particular about quality, balance, and flavor, and this place delivers every single time. I can’t say enough good things about Hidden Taste. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just another place to eat. The staff are so kind and genuinely care about making you comfortable, and the atmosphere has that family warmth that makes you want to linger a little longer.

As for the food, it’s honestly soul-nourishing. The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced; it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes with every bite. The chicken korma is another favorite, fragrant, and silky, it feels like comfort in a bowl. And of course, the biryani… it’s simply on another level. Aromatic, fluffy rice layered with tender chicken or shrimp and spices that taste like they’ve been perfected over generations.

Every meal here feels like a reminder of why I love Indian cuisine so much, it’s food that brings people together, food that feels like it was cooked with heart. Hidden taste has become my go-to spot for the past 3 and a half years, not just for dinner, but for moments when I want to feel at home. Truly a gem.

Hidden Taste is a hidden gem in Orleans.

We usually get take and this place prduces everytime. The Veg dinner for two is the way to go. Lots of food, two amazing curries, fluffy naan, samosas and a dessert.

The Palak Paneer and the Eggplant Bartha are delicious.

The staff are always great.

Parking is in the back of the restaurant.

I have had the pleasure of eating at Hidden Taste on numerous occasions and each time it was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, the owners are caring and take great pride in their restaurant which makes for a really enjoyable experience.

It’s very unfortunate to see some recent reviews that appear to be related to a separate parking issue rather than the restaurant itself, as some of the reviewers have even stated. Reviews should reflect real experiences with the food and service, not unrelated frustrations from individuals that want to ruin a very good establishment as the restaurant itself deserves recognition for the great food and service they deliver. If you haven’t already tried Hidden Taste, I highly recommend giving them a visit as it’s truly a great local spot worth supporting as so many have already.

Customer care need to improve. You need to have smile on your face. Who ever the customer is. I saw two different approaches. With me was blunt face. And cold welcome. With another person they had smiling face and warm Welcome. I had to tell them that food was okay food. Too much oil in biriyani no taste of ghee… Tasted powdered spices than real Flovours. Meat was well cooked.
I work in customer care and see lot of rude faces but we don’t stop smiling. We give best service to every one and learn from mistakes. Prejudiced, biased approach won’t help t all.

Absolutely incredible food at Hidden Taste. The spices are perfectly balanced and everything tastes fresh and homemade. By far our go-to spot for Indian cuisine in the area. Never disappoints!

The food was fabulous. We had Butter Chicken and a Chicken Tikka dish served with hot Naan bread. The man (owner?) who served us was very helpful throughout the meal with advice on our dinner choices and follow-up during the meal. This is a small place so you should make reservations. Parking is free.

Based on reviews decided to try— so happy I did. This will now be my new go to Indian Food Restaurant. Food was plentiful, fresh and very very tasty. Quality of ingredients and spice was top tier. Give it a try- you won’t be disappointed. Dan.

My husband and I ordered from here for the first time tonight.
The food was absolutely delicious.
We’ve ordered from Rangoli’s and Pak India before, Hidden Taste of India has those two places beat.
We will definitely be ordering from here again

This place left a great first impression on me. The food was delicious and the portions are fairly sized. The owners were very welcoming and sweet. The food didn’t take long and we were served fairly quickly. I definitely recommend going for a medium spice level for the dishes. Will absolutely visit again.

Long story short, We tried Hidden Taste for the first time last night and we will NEVER…EVER go anyplace else from here on out. Absolutely INCREDIBLE. Korma, Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan were possibly the best we’ve ever had (globally not just locally). To boot, they are a beautiful, kind, hard working, family owned restaurant with highly aggressive pricing compared to other places (who aren’t nearly as good as Hidden Taste btw)
From one Indian lover to another…cancel what your currently ordering and give Hidden Taste a try, you will NOT be disappointed !!
As someone else said, HANDS DOWN the best in Orleans, by TWO country miles. Id even say the best in Ottawa all factors considered. The only place remotely close to Hidden Taste is Kebab House on Clarence St. But it’s WAYYY overpriced and caters to Parliament big wigs writing off their 200$ lunches. Our 68$ meal at Hidden Taste is 106$ at Kebab House so it’s a TOTAL game changer having found this gem.
