Cocktail & Vinyl Record Bar Inspired by Canto-Pop & Mando-Pop.
From craft cocktails and small bites to music and art display, 929’s goal is to create an immersive space for the celebration of Cantonese and Mandarin pop music from the 1980s and beyond.
Sipping a cocktail inspired by Chinese ingredients while jamming to music playing on vinyl and browsing the music memorabilia collection in the space is exactly what we would love to see you doing. We believe in celebration, introduction, and most importantly, preservation of the pop culture we grew up with.

Had the most lovely time at 929. We came before a Broadway show, which was perfect considering they have a 90 minute limit per table! Their Lunar New Year cocktails were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, I loved the salted soy milk foam, and their fermented tea non-alcoholic option was also fantastic as a mocktail. We also tried the basil popcorn chicken, the egg yolk toast, and the bun – every dish knocked it out of the park. Great vibes and decor as well – loved that you get there via a hidden door!

First at all, as authentic and unique speakeasy, they have the capacity to deliver on a high end note. Service is impeccable, staff is professional, always looking after you and answering any questions you may have. The cocktail list is made for everyone to come enjoy flavors inspired in East Asia, from sweetness the Shanghai summer fling to the spiciness of Fire iceberg, I definitely enjoyed too many of them, Nic, Ray, Chai and Tomas makes your stay with them almost like you are in your second home. For food I would say you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes, specially if you try the dates and mochi, I think it is almost like having Churros but better. The atmosphere can make you believe you are take a break for the city. If you are thinking of coming here, I highly recommend it. Best service, I look forward for my next time with you and thank you for always accommodating me regardless of the time of arrival.

Had the best time at 929! The cocktails were so fun and delicious. The food was amazing too – we ordered the basil popcorn chicken, san bei octopus, cured egg yolk toast and the mochi you tiao. Definitely need to come back to try the restaurant Traveler downstairs, currently serving Taiwanese food! PS they have the coolest alcoholic tea vending machines too

Amazing cocktail bar, among the very best in NY (and I’ve been to most of the famous ones). The Spring of Life (whiskey, PX Sherry, pu’er tea, brown butter, milk and fresh truffle) was amazing!! The fresh truffle gave such depth and complexity to the drink. The Wukong with brandy, goat cheese, fig, carmelized cantaloupe and cumin was also so unique. The bartender was extremely welcoming and gave great background on the cocktails. Can’t wait to come back and try the downstairs tea infused cocktails too.

We booked our reservation online on resy and when we showed up they guided us up to our table. half way thru after we had already ordered, the server asked us if we had a reservation and if we had just sat ourselves. the room was on a separate floor with the entrance at the back of the restaurant. we didn’t appreciate the accusatory tone that they took with us. this is also not a place to sit and enjoy ur drinks. we didn’t know there would be a time limit and felt rushed when the server kept asking us if we wanted to order more things and kept clearing our table. the serving size is also really small for the price. we were only there for like 40-50 mins, so not even an hour which i feel like is short but understandable if we were informed beforehand. other tables were there for much longer than us, arriving earlier than us and was still enjoying their food and drink. They asked who showed us to the table and then stated that it must’ve been the host who was new, and that they were obviously not going to move us since we had already been sat. yes, i hope that was the case because it would be extremely unprofessional of them to move us after a mix up on their end, regardless if the host was new or not. the drinks and food were fine, and the atmosphere was cool, but honestly the service ruined it for us.

Randomly passed by Hue House yesterday and we got one hour to kill, so we decided to check this place out for a quick drink. The outcome was a WOW , since we were only looking for small bites and drinks, the host suggested 929 bar upstairs. Walked up and through the red curtains, a beautiful bar presented in front of us. 5 stars on the interior decor with a bunch of vinyl LP.
For the drinks, the menu was a pack of CDs, the selection of cocktails was unique and delicious. The one I took photo for was the Very Tipsy Poet.
The popcorn chicken was just perfect.
We will definitely be back for more and will try downstairs restaurant the Traveller.

Absolutely loved this Taiwanese-inspired bar!
They’ve thoughtfully blended a variety of Taiwanese elements with creative Western twists, from the cocktails to the dishes — bringing a fresh taste of Taiwan to New York. You can really feel how attentive and dedicated the team is. Truly a place Taiwan can be proud of. Highly recommend!

The cocktails here are very good! The menu comes in a CD binder where the drinks are ordered by weakest to strongest. I really liked the truffle drink!
