I stumbled upon Carlton Diner in Bentleyville, PA, and it quickly became my new favorite breakfast spot! ️ The atmosphere is super cozy, with a warm and welcoming vibe that’s perfect for a lazy Sunday morning.
I ordered the pancakes, and oh boy, they did NOT disappoint! These babies are HUGE – like, share-with-your-best-friend huge . They were cooked to perfection, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, and paired with fresh fruit and whipped cream . Yum!
But what really stole the show was the vintage safe that doubles as a cash register . It’s like a blast from the past, and the staff were happy to crack it open and show me the loot inside .
The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who knew exactly what they were doing. Prices were super reasonable, too – I paid around $15 for a massive breakfast that’d fuel me for the whole day .

The food is good and priced fairly. Service is very good and the owner comes over to make sure everything is okay and gets to know you. The restaurant was an old bank and remodeled to reflect its history. Worth checking out. If you have a large group , call ahead.

Service was friendly and welcoming from both our waitress and who I presume is the owner, whom I talked to on the way out. They both gave me credit for my appetite which is always fun for me. They also had classic rock playing.
The pancakes were fluffy and I got mine with pecans on top and caramel chips inside. I’m pretty sure they give you real butter too. The biscuits and gravy were solid and the hashbrowns were crispy and not at all soggy like some places serve them. The sausage was really good because the bottom was caramelized and it gave it that little boost of flavor. The bacon was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, which is just how I like it. I have to give a shoutout to the apple fritter French toast too; it’s a unique menu item and one of their signatures.
The building used to be a bank so it’s not set up like your traditional restaurant, but it is kinda cool. They also have a rewards program where every $1 gets you a point, and every $50 gets you $5 off. They also never expire, so it’s overall a great deal at no extra cost to you. They definitely care about their customers. The only things that I can think of to complain about are that the bathroom floor was quite sticky and they were out of some items. However, it didn’t detract too much from the experience and I would definitely go back if I’m in the area again.

I grew up in Bentleyville, and the last time I was in this building, it was a bank! Love that they kept the antique safe in the back! I was thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness and fast, friendly service. The food was very good … definitely a step up from the old Carlton!

Truly can’t recommend this place enough! Any time we have family or friends from out of town we try and eat here. While we mainly frequent the diner for breakfast on the weekends, we occasionally enjoy their delicious food other times as well. I have a service dog and they are always welcoming to her and respectful as well which is rare to find in small towns!

Tried for the first time, and the waitress was nice, she was the only one so I understood that. But the food, yeah no. It was a waste of money. My fifteen dollar sandwich was the same size as the grilled cheese!

First time I ordered food from here and I am in love. Real crab meat in the pepper Jack crab soup, seasoned to perfection. Everything is seasoned well, homeade, and delicious. I got myself soup and salad with a Rueben and it’s a nice portion for a good price. The kids loved their food cheeseburgers, chicken tenders and fries. My kids are very picky and is definitely approved by them as well. We love the Carlton.

I’m sad to say that this place has really gone down hill. Half of my hashbrowns were not edible they were so burnt and I was missing a piece a bacon. The bacon also used to be better. I used to love coming here but it is just not worth the price to have to complain about your food just to get what you are paying for. I hope it gets better! The staff is nice but my waitress went MIA so another waitress helped me resolve my issues.

Our first time trying this diner and it was a delightful experience! We were there for breakfast offerings and all four of us loved what we ordered. Food portions are plentiful! I could only eat half of a half order of slop! We took a piece of cheesecake to go as we learned they are all house-made.
Our waitress was so awesome. I feel bad I forget her name because she was super friendly and helpful in our decision making! She’s part of why we’ll be back!
