We got the breakfast burrito with bacon. It wasn’t anything special but it was not bad either. At $11 its not a bad deal for the amount of food you get.

Pretty good food. Rice and beans were typical. Beef tongue taco had good taste and they were full. Horchata was great! Girl taking the orders could have been a smidge more pleasant.

Fresh Tacos with selfmade tortillas, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Got the fish, shrimp and chicken tacos. It was delicious. In a town where there are not many (good) options to eat, it was a pleasant experience to eat something that fresh after a few beers at de Garde Brewing.

Great hope in the wall taco stand. Super good salsa. The avocado salsa is really delicious. Radishes are local and spicy. Meat is well seasoned and very fair portions. They take Visa and have a wide selection of beverages. This is a great place for a quick stop.

Super friendly staff. Clean inside. Ordered a marinated pork burrito. It was good. Some crunchy pork bits – but that is a sign that the food is real! Flavors were authentic and not ‘Americanized’ – as in no globs of cheddar cheese and sour cream in the traditional burrito. Medium and Hot sauces were both good, not super hot, but hot enough and with good flavor. I did not try the mild – but I should have as it looked good as well. I’d go back again for sure if I was driving through town at lunch/dinner.

The food here is very good!! I LOVE their tacos they’re my favorite in town! They make their tortillas by hand every day. I am picky with my food but I’ve never been disappointed here.

Humble and honest taqueria serving all the staples from tacos and quesadillas to breakfast burritos and tamales.

Looks like it’s family run, and the ladies behind the grill know what they’re doing. Portions were great, and the hot sauce was spicy ️.

Didn’t see horchata on the menu, but asked and they delivered.

They have a drive through, but didn’t seem like it was open when we were there.

Everytime we are on the coast we stop in at Maria’s for lunch. We have lived everything we have tried, but the go to favorites are the burritos. My kids declare them the best bean and cheese burritos ever. And we lived in California so we have tried burritos. They also have a green creamy salsa thing that we can not get enough of. I highly recommend and the price cannot be beat.

Meats for tacos were dried out (birra, carnitas, lengua) with the exception of the shrimp and fish. Maybe an off day? Who knows? Salsa was ok. OK but not great, a bit one dimensional in flavour. Meats need more seasoning (salt, spices) and fat. Balance was not there, just dry stringy meat. They were dry and gristly. Carnitas are usually simmered in lard on low low heat. They should never taste dried out. I did appreciate they make their tortillas from scratch and to order, however I would like to get two for each taco like “old world” places do. But with dry meat that was less of an issue.
I have eaten all over Mexico from border towns like Tijuana, to Puebla, Mexico City, and the Yucatan. I’m more than familiar with taqueria’s and Mexican food in general from all over the country. From spending time learning “old world” recipes from Aunties like roasting and grinding spices from scratch in a molacete for mole pueblano to making Chili en Nogada in Puebla, to stewing different meats in giant cazuelas till TENDER. In In fact one of my best friends currently has the top rated restaurant in the country and I consulted for him before the soft opening. Even Enrique with all the accolades he has takes feedback constructively and non defensively.

I have also had better tacos stateside in Portland, Las Vegas, Seattle, Vancouver, and even Denver. Perhaps you have a captive audience who cannot get better where your located in Tillamook?

I have seen from previous reviews this owner, rather than address the issues or feedback faced or given by CUSTOMERS (who pay the bills) gets defensive and doesn’t address the issues or makes excuses. He seems to be pedantic in addressing unrelated things like spelling or grammar when he knows full well what people mean and understands the gist of their reviews.
Part of running a successful business is taking criticism constructively and using it to your advantage.

Believe me we all champion small family owned restaurants over chains and expense account places. I really hope you take this review to heart and reflect on what I’m saying. Having an ego is one thing but do address issues when they do arise.
