We went here for a joint birthday celebration of two of my friends , and it did not disappoint!!
From the moment you walk into the AC hotel , you feel like you’re walking into an exclusive lounge!
The food was spot on and the drinks were delicious. We ordered the Cajun shrimp / beef toasties / the chicken / pork belly and the ceaser salad. Absolutely no complaints.
The drinks : omg! These are dangerous!!! And at $20 a drink you would expect to get your moneys worth and we did ! Super delicious.
The whole place has such a chilled out vibe. The bathrooms were clean ( at least at the time we went ) and I need to mention our server , Lauralie (I hope I pronounced it correctly) she was such a gem!
We went during the snow storm and since it was super cold , the rooftop area was closed. But the views were amazing.
Will definitely be back during spring !
Highly recommend a reservation !

Party of two with a reservation on a Tuesday, July 15th. From the moment I walked in the AC Hotel to the elevator to Ciel Rooftop, all was a great experience!
Josh check us in and located available seating at the bar for us since we didn’t want to sit outside. Brittney was our dedicated bartender, and she did not disappoint! She was attentive, professional and the drinks were amazing each time. During the second show Josh made sure we were seated for our reservation. Josh’s professionalism and ability to connect with the guest’s in a busy environment is unmatched!!!!
If wings are your thing try it out. We tasted several small plates and didn’t get picks because we couldn’t stop eating after the first bite! A GOOD TIME WAS HAD AND LIVE MUSIC WAS SPOT ON!

Came to Ciel a few weeks ago on a Thursday not knowing what to expect from a random DC Hotel rooftop bar. I was somewhat surprised by the classy ambiance of Ciel as soon as the elevator doors parted. I made my way to the bar and was greeted by the bartender almost immediately. Riley was wonderful and very cheerful she made me feel welcome sometimes I get really bad social anxiety. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to drink so she gave me some recommendations but I was too overwhelmed to pick so I asked if she could just make me something she would drink that has tequila. It was a great drink very refreshing and the perfect amount of alcohol I could barely taste it but I could definitely feel it. After the first one I got 3 more drinks from her and they were all equally as great. I really enjoyed Ciel and Riley was a great bartender knowledgeable about her drinks and very warm and friendly to me my entire visit, I left in good spirits and feeling great. Next time I’ll be bringing friends but surely I’ll be back here soon!

I came for Tuesday night Jazz night and was delighted to hear covers from Bobby Caldwell to Gnarls Barkley and more. The vibes were absolutely immaculate.
In terms of drinks and food, very impressed. Ciel has a French theme going on right now and we ordered the Claire de Lune and La Passion cocktails and they were sweet, smooth, and still packed a punch. For food, we ordered the steak tartines, airplane chicken, rainbow beetroot salad, and mini fish tacos. Each dish was more delicious than the last. Will definitely return, especially on Tuesdays, to hear more jazz and enjoy their lovely atmosphere.

Ordered the chicken skewers—packed with flavor and perfectly grilled! The salmon risotto was cooked just right, though a bit on the salty side. Luckily, the crisp salad balanced everything out nicely. The shrimp? Massive and super fresh! Everything came together beautifully—definitely a dish worth coming back for!

We did have a reservation ahead of time. Absolutely stunning experience, loved the professional quick servers, the food was good, and the drinks where good as well. The views were stunning, absolutely stunning. Highly recommend just for the decor and the gorgeous views of the skyline and city. I hope to visit again sometime soon.

A hidden GEM! This is only my second visit. The service, food and atmosphere are top tier. Upscale, chic,grown and sexy. The vibe is unmatched. The staff made me feel so comfortable, I dined alone. I had the butternut smosh ravioli with a side caesar salad, absolutely amazing. The flavors were layered and made me feel warm and cozy inside. The crowd is a mix of young professionals and mature seasoned adults. Exculsive is an understatement, I had no clue Ciel was located on the roof top of the AC HOTEL. Is this low key a speakeasy… it feels very mature and great for an array of things. Girls night out, drinks with the fellas, date night or even a solo outing! It’s great for weekdays or weekend. All in all this is a must visit! General Manager Thomas is one of the best to do it in this city! It shows through his staff. Bar manager Danny was such a pleasure and server Brianna and L were such a joy and delight to be around.
