For years, we shared a dream—to open a restaurant that would celebrate the bold flavors of Vietnamese street food, served in a way that felt familiar and authentic. My husband’s expertise in grilling, combined with my deep-rooted love for Vietnamese cuisine, created the perfect blend of passion and tradition. Now, as we stand on the brink of opening our restaurant, Bee’S Vietnamese Street Food, we are excited to share our love story with the people of San Francisco. Our menu is a tribute to the meals we’ve shared—the ones that brought us closer, dish by dish. Every plate tells a story of our travels, our cultures, and our shared dream to bring the heart of Vietnamese street food to this vibrant city.

Bee’s Vietnamese Street Food – Review – Mission – San Francisco

We go to Bee’s Vietnamese Street Food in the Mission for one reason: the broken rice platters with juicy grilled chicken or pork.

I’m thrilled to have a new Vietnamese restaurant in the Mission! We tried the chicken wings, papaya salad, combo broken rice, and the vegetarian noodle soup. The wings were incredibly juicy and full of flavor, and the veg noodle soup was so hearty—real comfort food. The portions were generous, and we initially thought we’d have leftovers, but the food was so delicious, especially the tender meat in the broken rice combo, that we ended up finishing everything!

The atmosphere is cozy and charming, making it a great spot for a date or a casual hangout with friends. What truly stands out, though, is that it’s a family-run restaurant. Their passion for Vietnamese cuisine shines through in the delicious food and the warm, attentive service. Highly recommend supporting this local gem!

Came across this restaurant after exhausting most other restaurant options in the mission. Limited menu which helps with deciding what to order quicker and without flipping through pages. They also have images of the food if you’re less familiar with viet food or are a visual person (like me). The owners are a sweet couple and use the wife’s (grandmas?) recipes. The food is delicious- Will definitely be coming back!

Small menu that packs a punch. The star of the menu is the com tam (“broken’ rice plates). I’ve had these all over the city, and I must say, the quality at this place stands out. You can taste the freshness of the food. The service was friendly and efficient. I had the pork com tam and the Vietnamese papaya salad with beef jerky, (new to me). It was all very good. Finished off my meal with warm soy milk that came with pandan. Super delicious and perfect for the rainy/windy weather. I will be returning to this place for sure.

Unique and delicious, super nice staff, good time to check out as this place will definitely get busy.

Had the Deluxe Soup and Herbal Tea. The soup was super flavorful and rich while also not heavy (really unique flavor combo and the corn adds just the right touch of sweetness to enhance the flavors of the veggies and meat). The tea was surprisingly nice too.

The staff was kind and responsive. The whole place has a nice, modern fun ambience.

Nice to see a new addition to the mission, so we decided to give this place a try. There are certainly some high notes to highlight and some improvements to recommend. I like the simple but tasteful decor. Gives you this feeling to swing by and do a quick replenish and yet you won’t feel like you want to hang around for too long. The menu is simple and to the point we tried three dishes. The papaya salad, the fried tofu and the pork chop with the broken rice. On the papaya salad. One of my favorite dishes when I’m in Southeast Asia, the papaya was nice but the beef jerky served with it doesn’t work, also the dressing doesn’t quite make it. It lacks fish sauce, lime juice and a hint of chili. Nothing that can’t be fixed. The tofu, love the batter, it’s crisp yet soft nicely done but the presentation is a bit of a turn off. Don’t drown the tofu in hoisin and Sriracha sauce. Keep the sauce on the side and make it lighter. Hoisin is very sweet hence over powers the tofu flavor. Now the main dish. The broken rice and pork chop. The rice was done to perfection and so was the egg. The pork chop was nice but could use a bit more flavor. Overall a nice experience with good service.

Great new spot! We tried the chicken wings starter (no photo, ate them too fast – delicious and crispy!), the combination pork chop/chicken broken rice plate, and the dry noodle (Hu tieu kho). All were excellent!

The grilled chicken and pork chop in particular were great – nice and smoky, flavorful marinade, still juicy. The texture of the broken rice was spot on, too.

Also had the house soy milk (hot) which was fine and slightly vanilla flavored.

Interior is small but cozy and service is very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back!
