No one greeted us upon arrival. We struggled to order our own food from the kiosk. Then found a spot to sit, realizing every table in the place was nasty. I asked a worker for cleaning solution and a rag to clean the tables and he actually gave me cleaner and a rag that looked like it was used all day long to clean behind the actual ordering station. The drink station had pop and food all over in. The trashes were so full you could not throw anything away and the floor hadn’t been swept all day. I watched a crew member take food out the north door, walk around the building smoking a cigarette in his food service gloves, and go back in the south door to the service area. When we finished up, I went and asked for the manager. The manager happened to be the guy that was smoking outside in his food prep gloves. His gloves, had holes in most of the fingers and his fingers were exposed. I told him about the place needing cleaned. He said Ill have someone clean it up, we are short staffed. Short staffed or just a complete ignorance to what proper cleanliness means in a restaurant? Completely unacceptable, unsanitary, and so many things.

Worst McDonald’s experience ever! Entered the drive thru line at 10:05am so my friend could get breakfast burritos, it was after 10:30 before we even got up to order, so had to order lunch then. Drove out with our food after 11:05am. An hour!! And my friend’s burgers were cold & mine had no pickles. But an hour in the drive thru?! No apologies for the wait, no coupons. Unbelievable!

I have alot of reasons and alot of experiences for my 1 star review of this McDonald’s. First off it very clearly says online that they open at 5:30am. I pull into the drive thru a few minutes after 5:30 and nothing. Waited in drive thru for about 10minutes…nothing. pulled around and lights were off in drive thru so obviously you AREN’T open at 5:30…and there no hours posted by the doors that I could see. So when do they open? Who knows!
The other reason is because they mess up part of my order basically every single time I go there. I always ask for no ketchup or mustard on all my burgers. That’s all I ask. But I get ketchup and mustard every single time. Even when the sandwich comes with a tag saying no ketchup no mustard….and yes…I always get and check the receipts. The last time it happened they must have realized they made a mistake and tried to hide it by scraping it off (unsuccessfully I might add) but it was VERY clear they tried to hide it rather than just making a new one. That’s just flat out lazy and unacceptable. I could list a dozen other similar examples, but this review is long enough.
I keep giving these guys chances thinking it won’t happen again…but something ALWAYS does…with today’s being they say they open at 5:30, but they clearly don’t….like you can’t even get that right?
So yea, all that being said, no more chances. I’m done…and for whoever reads this, I STRONGLY recommend you go spend your hard earned cash at one of the several other options available in the area.

Arrived at 12:01am open till 1am it says). Arches & lights were on, 4 other cars in line between the 2 lanes. Sat & sat, cars in front pulled through. What we didnt realize is that they left. Menu boards were still on. We finally gave up. As we drove past the drive up window, a guy was sweeping. As I’m posting this, hours say they are still open. Previously mentioned lights were now off as we left. Wonder how long the other 3 cars hung around as they were being ignored? Maybe they should have thought to turn the menu boards off first

Just picked up a breakfast order. We ordered sausage egg and cheese bagels. They put egg whites on the sandwich instead of the regular eggs and when one of us bit into it there was grey rubbery things inside the egg…we ended up throwing them out. Every time I have been here it’s been a terrible experience. They refuse to read these reviews and make a change. If you’re in town and think you will get a quick tasty meal like at a typical McDonald’s you’re mistaken. They ask you to pull up and wait every time. Even when no one is in line. The owners clearly don’t mind selling overpriced garbage to people. Never returning to this location

This McDonald’s either gives you food that taste like it was made 4 hrs ago, ( hard, dry, and gross) or they mess up your order. This picture is an old dry mcchicken that they didn’t put the lettuce or mayo on. I ordered a McFlurry, my guilty pleasure every now and then, and I got it half full! I said “hey for the amount of money these cost I’d appreciate it if you fill it” the guy got pissed off huffed and puffed and did as I asked. With an over dramatic attitude. I’m local to the area and this places messes up more than they get the orders right I’ve been here multiple times over years and it’s an inconsistent mess. My advice to you is to ask for everything fresh made and to check your food to make sure it’s correct before pulling away.

The guy taking orders was mumbling. I could barely understand him. When I was handed my food, I had to ask for my drink. The lady huffed and rolled her eyes. She handed me my drink that was only 2/3 filled. It was very light colored. I asked her if I could get something else to drink because it appears that they are out of the drink I ordered. She closed the window and walked away. I think that simply getting me a different drink would have been easier than having an attitude.

Went to pick up some food on Sunday 11/12/23 because my son wanted McDonald’s (I don’t usually eat there and only go for him).
For a restaurant in Okoboji it could use some serious improvements. One of the windows had a hole covered in duct tape that could be easily mistaken for a bullet hole (maybe it was).
I haven’t had any issues with this establishment before, but it appeared the evenings dinner rush was an issue for the employees .
First thing I noticed was a woman on the staff with facial piercings leering at me as I casually walked to the bathroom after ordering from the kiosk. When I came back to get my drink cups I was ignored until I finally reached out to someone who couldn’t avoid me.
After receiving our food I noticed my burgers patty was falling apart, missing a few toppings, and looked like a hastily made mess. My sons wasn’t even properly cooked (pink in the middle).
They made us new food, but weren’t very friendly about it.
I’ve worked in the service industry and understand things can be hectic in a rush (especially if you’re short staffed), but being completely unfriendly, unapproachable, and serving customers pink burgers isn’t acceptable.
Hopefully my son finally learned that McDonald’s isn’t worth it anymore. There’s no shortage of places to get a hamburger in Okoboji, so between the price and the quality, you’re better off just going to a regular restaurant for a burger and fries. I think he has finally realized this because he threw out his food after a few bites (which he never does).
The lack of response from any management or franchisee on even one of these negative reviews speaks volumes.
