Honey Pig BBQ is a lively and fun Korean BBQ spot that never disappoints. Their signature tabletop grill setup is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. I love how everything is cooked right in front of you, from the thinly sliced beef brisket to the generously seasoned kimchi and bean sprouts. The sizzling sound and aroma create an experience as much as a meal.

One highlight for me is their post-BBQ fried rice. The staff mixes leftover juices and ingredients from the grill into rice, resulting in a savory, crispy dish that’s worth saving room for. The side dishes are plentiful, fresh, and perfectly complement the main dishes.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is vibrant, though it can get a bit smoky and loud during peak hours, adding to the lively experience. Service is attentive, with staff regularly helping manage the grill and ensuring you’re enjoying your meal.

If you’re in the mood for a casual gathering with friends or family and want to enjoy authentic Korean BBQ with an interactive twist, Honey Pig BBQ is a solid choice.

We visited Honey Pig Korean BBQ for dinner, and it was another great experience. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Today we ordered salchi-sal (premium chuck flap), beef belly, and mul naengmyeon (cold noodles). One of the highlights here is their large cast-iron lid grill, where they cook bean sprouts and kimchi together with the meat,it adds so much flavor.
Of course, we couldn’t skip the fried rice for dessert! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff were extremely professional and attentive, which made the experience even better.
If you’re looking for authentic Korean BBQ in Irvine, I highly recommend Honey Pig Korean BBQ. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back!

Always outstanding Korean bbq that’s cooked for you by server – great teamwork too with staff. Excellent angus ribeye and black tiger shrimp, love their unique round grill, the banchan. Plus Kimchi Fried Rice at the end- a must. Been going for last 10 years!

It’s best for party of 4. Minimum you have to order 2 meats, which tops $80. It’s too much for 2 regular folks. Meat quality is mediocre.
It’s a bit different from typical Korean BBQ and comes with tofu, mushrooms, and kimchi rice at the end.

I meant to give two stars but raised it to four, and here’s why.

On a busy Sunday night around 6pm, my friends and I (a party of 7) went to dine at Honey Pig. We were lucky that there was only one group ahead of us, and the younger server told us it would be about a 10-minute wait. The group ahead of us got seated, and we saw two side-by-side tables that were clearing out, so we assumed those would be ours. However, an older server (possibly a manager?) kept skipping us each time as he seated other guests.

After about 45 minutes, I went in to ask what was going on. The older server said he was planning to seat us at a corner table by the entrance. I politely mentioned that it looked a bit small for our group and asked if we could be seated at one of the two tables we had seen earlier. He assured me the table could seat up to 8 people and that we’d be seated there once the current diners left. We waited another 15 minutes, then I approached him again, expressing that we didn’t mind sitting separately and that it would’ve been nice if he had asked us ahead of time on how we prefer to be seated.

At this point, the server mentioned his 15+ years of experience in the industry, but upon sensing my unseased tone, he quickly apologized for not asking earlier. I told him to seat us at whichever table became available first since we had already waited over an hour. When the larger table finally opened up, he seated a group of 5 before us and then gave us two separate tables. This was frustrating, but we were hungry, so we tried to move past it.

The food, however, was excellent. I was a bit frustrated at first, but after eating the pork belly, I felt a lot better. As I was taking photos for my review, the restaurant surprised us with two complimentary dishes: corn cheese and octopus (nak-ji).

While I initially wanted to give only two stars due to the seating issues, the attentive service from the remaining servers and the great food, along with the complimentary dishes, won me over. So, as a thank you for the freebie, I’m giving them four stars. But please, next time, do ask your guest first if they wouldn’t mind seating separately (especially if it’s a large group) prior to seating other people.

Very happy with my first visit here. I came here to eat on a weekday to eat with a friend and got the brisket kind of wish I would of tried the pork belly though. Everything from the kimchu to the meat was great. Definitely coming back whenever I get a chance. The staff pretty much preps and check up on the meat.

Yup, this is our first time to visit this place. Good staffs, the meat that we choose are good to eat and tender. We picked Certified Angus Rib Eye Steak (Prime) and Signature Black Pork Belly . For all the vegetables, tofu, potatoes are unlimited free to order. And for the last one they will put mixed rice (I would say it’s a fried rice) with whatever it is left over, they will mixed it up with rice and some vegetables. Overall the food are good but not the price. And we don’t know why we need to order at least 2 meats.

We stumbled on to Honey Pig BBQ while looking for a place to eat after a baseball tournament in Irvine. This was a fun, different experience. The servers were great, answering all our questions, since this was a first for all of us. The servers did all the cooking and were very attentive. We had shrimp, wagu beef, and duck. The meal starts off with the servers bringing out the meal prep, which consists of kimchi and several other items served with whatever meat you choose. The servers cook all the food and tell you when it’s ready. There are dipping sauces, which were very good and rice paper for wrapping the food. There were no complaints about the meat we chose. Everyone loved the choices. The kimchi can be a little much if you haven’t had it before, It is an acquired taste type of food. At the end of dinner, the food leftover is combined with rice to make a fried rice meal. It was delicious. It would be tough to suggest what to get. I recommend asking questions and taking a chance on something you haven’t had before. I don’t think you will be disappointed in whatever is ordered. I can tell you the duck was a big hit with everyone. I look forward to returning soon to try something different. Have fun, take a chance, and enjoy the experience.

Place was solid. The best part of the meal was the kimchi fried rice that they make for you at the end. The chadol beef was not great, a bit dry and not fatty enough. The thinly sliced pork was good and the samgyupsal was good too. The sides were just ok. The egg (gae lan cheem) was ok. The lettuce salad didn’t have enough dressing on it. The corn was just ok.

The waiters are great in that they start the meat for you, but they don’t always come back in time to move the meat off the grill, so you have to be attentive and do it yourself. Otherwise the meat will overcook. The wait staff was generally friendly and helpful.
