The food here is really good and it always looks good too… We always go through here for a blizzard run and I always get the firehouse Burger but sometimes I try different things like their hot dogs which are also very good…but as you can see from these photos these burgers are beautiful almost like a commercial looking Burger… This Dairy Queen is a good one I usually go through the drive-through so I’ve never been inside.

The fried food and icecreams are good just DON’T eat their signature burgers! You’ll pay $6+ for $1quality. I’ve had the onion rings and cheese curds and they were fresh, definitely needed salted though. Their chicken strips are good, different sizes but good. The fries were nice and fresh. One the most recent visit I tried the 1/2 lb A1 burger and it was sadly a major let down, bacon wasnt eatable, bun was cold, served the 1/3instead, and in all tasted Family Dollar $1burgers generic. They have the Coca-Cola freestyle machines with a vast amount of soda options. The place is clean and all the employees are nice and helpful. Theres alot of employees, I saw at least 5 just from the regi. The staff here are always so friendly, some young guy today when I only went in to update this review gave me a free soda! Anways I recommend this DQ and I will visit here often, it definetly outdoes any DQ I’ve ever visited but again DONT get the “signature” burgers.

I had the “Blizzard” with butterfinger pieces. The staff was friendly, and service was fairly quick. The Blizzard tasted great. Dairy Queen has the best taste IMO. I would have given an overall “5” rating, but the store was a little dirty, floor wasn’t clean and two employees were sitting outside on the phone, one was smoking. (Maybe they were on break). As a manager, I would make sure the restaurant was clean and presentable to customers before I would let staff take smoke or phone breaks outside. Especially when they are still in store uniforms. But, overall a positive experience and great taste.

We got 3 blizzards, Oreo Brookie, NY cheesecake, and brownie. They were all good. However, they aren’t made quite the same as the ones in Portsmouth. Portsmouth adds more syrup but Barboursville adds more chunks. The ice cream is always recommended, and the service is good.

Went through the drive through ordered a small cone, a strawberry dipped cheesecake blizzard and a large fry. The fry was the best thing. The cone was melting and dripping because it sat on the counter, the blizzard, they did not flip and was more like a milkshake because it sat so long it had melted. So disappointed.

The hot fudge sundae had little to no hot fudge on them. We had 2 of them. I asked if there could please be some hot fudge put on them especially the top. Celena told me that is how they make them. I disagreed as we have gotten them several times before. I shared that if Dairy Queen saw a picture of this one she made they would agree it was not correct. She then told me the weight was correct for the Sunday. I agreed as yes the ice cream weight was probably correct. But, I said you didn’t put any hot fudge. She then said I would have to charge you. I asked for a manager only to find out she is the manager ( which all I can say is wow on that one – pitiful that is your manager ) … I explained this truly is totally not acceptable. She then said she would give me a side of the hot fudge that I can put on top but she can’t take these back and she refused to re make them. I accepted the side of hot fudge. But the attitude of your manager and the way this was all handled I truly don’t even wanna come back to this Dairy Queen…. Which I love Dairy Queen. It could have been handled so much better. I also do have a picture of the hot fudge she made which I have included. I also showed a picture of what your advertised sundae looks like (that is how they normally look too).

There is definitely a declining quality trend in the dining room.

One drink machine is broken, poor customer service with only 1 person working the front counter – so the orders pile up.

More than half of the tables and chairs were dirty or had fries and trash around them.

Give it a good deep clean and we’re good to go!

My boyfriend and I go to this Dairy Queen all the time and 99% of the time get the same thing. A handful of times the order has been wrong but nothing crazy or anything to complain about. Today we went around 6 pm and decided to walk inside to order. The girl working the register was just terrible. We ordered 2 chocolate ice creams with sprinkles in a cup and my boyfriend ordered a burger with just ketchup and mustard, and a large order of cheese curds and a side of fries. I always make sure to emphasize the ice cream in a cup because we order to go and it’s hard to eat ice cream in a cone while driving. We’re standing there waiting and I notice they put 2 chocolate ice cream cones in the window. Normally I don’t say anything when something is messed up, but I walked up to her and said “I’m sorry but I asked for them in a cup.” She said “oh yeah sorry”, and is joking around with the cooks basically acting like it’s ridiculous we asked for it to be how it was ordered. then gives us them in a cup with no sprinkles… we just forget about it because it’s not that big of a deal. She gives us our bag and we leave. We’re half way home and realize she didn’t even give us the burger. I look at the receipt and she didn’t even ring the damn burger up at all….. we had to turn around and go back. He asks for it again, pays for it. We get home, and there’s pickles on the burger. So, she gives us cones instead of a cup, then gives us cup with no sprinkles, and completely doesn’t put in the order for the burger, then gives us a burger with pickles even though she’s been told the order for the burger TWICE. How do you mess the order up that damn much unless you are just absolutely not paying attention. It was not busy, there was one other person ordering inside. At that point I feel like it’s disrespectful because I’m paying for food the way we order it and the girl isn’t even listening or paying attention and laughing about it. And it’s ridiculous because we feel bad for inconveniencing them by saying anything. Girl at the register, please pay more attention. This was such a frustrating experience.

It was a bright, sunny day. We had a couple of hundred miles of boring, life-grinding mileage behind us. Hours of mind-numbing white lines behind us. That’s when the ice cream pang hit. Our first DQ stop was closed! The sacrilege! Behold! Barboursville, like a shining beacon, beckoned us in. A blizzard and cone later, our spirits lifted and trip rejuvenated. Thanks folks!
