The food is freshly made to order including the idlis. Hot and tasty! Punugulu unlike any other food truck or restaurants in US. Tried many Chicken options and snacks all are great! The staff is very helpful. Food tastes exactly like Indian restaurants and very hygienic. Finally a food truck with impressive food!

I recently visited Carolina Chowrasta and found the experience to be average. The restaurant primarily focuses on Indo-Chinese cuisine, with a limited variety of dishes. If you’re looking for South Indian options, you’ll only find idly and karam idly on the menu, both of which tasted fine.

The Indo-Chinese dishes weren’t bad, but they didn’t stand out either. The chili paneer, in particular, was a bit disappointing – it was too sweet, and the sauce was overwhelming.

Overall, while Carolina Chowrasta has some decent offerings, the lack of variety and the average taste of the food make it a less exciting option for dining out. If you’re in the mood for Indo-Chinese cuisine, it might be worth a try, but don’t expect too much.

I stumbled on this place quite by accident. I was searching Google maps for something new for lunch when a little pin for Carolina Chowrastha showed up right next to Southern Spirits. I noticed they were only open in the evenings, so I’ve been waiting for a time when I had a free evening to try it out.

I was on my own for dinner tonight, so I found the little orange food truck in the parking lot next to Southern Spirits around 7PM. The line wasn’t long and families were enjoying their dinner at the nearby picnic tables.

I’ve never had Indo-Chinese food before, so I had questions. I wasn’t familiar with most of the items on the menu so I had done a little Googling before I showed up, but not much. I asked about the Punugulu and they were kind enough to explain it to me and show me one through the window .

I placed an order for Punugulu and mild Chicken Manchuria. My Punugulu was brought out in just a couple of minutes and the man who brought it out kindly explained there was a dipping sauce I should use. I ate several of them, but I didn’t have a drink since I was doing takeaway, and things were getting spicy so I saved the rest for home.

My Chicken Manchuria was ready a few minutes later. I took it home and prepared some Jasmine rice in the instant pot to go with it.

The food is absolutely delicious and flavorful. I love the ginger, garlic, scallions and red onions, especially. I’m one of those people who likes to pretend that I can handle spicy food, and sometimes I can. Still, my palate is pretty weak, so I cut the spice with the jasmine rice which also allows me to stretch the dish into two good portions, because the heat does build. It’s a delicious, flavorful heat, though.

I’m so excited to see this food truck pop up so close to home, and I hope they have plenty of success here. Everyone was really nice, and it was such a nice change of pace to enjoy real, flavorful food instead of a burger or a chicken sandwich from a drive-thru.

This place is a hidden gem for Indian food lovers! The flavors are truly authentic. We had the chicken 65 and chicken noodles, and both were too good with add on traditional spices. On top of that, the service was very good. A must-visit for anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine with top-notch service!

Carolina Chowrastha is a food truck experience you don’t want to miss! The dishes are consistently fresh and bursting with authentic spices, making each meal a delightful journey.

The ambience around the food truck is lively and inviting. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a relaxed dinner with friends, the atmosphere at Carolina Chowrastha enhances the overall dining experience. The staff are friendly and efficient, adding a personal touch that makes you feel right at home.

While the wait time can sometimes be on the higher side, it’s worth every minute for the quality of food you receive. Plus, they offer a convenient solution with a phone number you can call ahead to place your order. This feature allows you to skip the wait and pick up your food when it’s ready, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Overall, Carolina Chowrastha stands out as a top-notch food truck, blending fantastic food, great ambience, and thoughtful customer service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in some of the best street food around!

The food is so authentic and tasty. Love the spice levels, and they’re open pretty late too. Definitely recommend! The chutney is finger licking good 🙂

First time in USA to experience the same taste as hyderabad street style, highly recommend chicken noodles and chicken 65. Matka chai is on house if you spend more than $30, that’s out of the box and an experience we would crave for again

I tried veg fried rice and my friend tried chicken fried rice. We both enjoyed it. They talked more about the food before ordering, that we liked.
Taste is too good. Seemed they don’t add food color or taste powder. Special thanks for this.. ♥️
Also foods are served with reasonable prices.

Five stars, it was the best indo-chinese food I have ever tried in Charlotte. One stop for all indo-chinese lovers like me…if they work on making atmosphere better by adding some string lights…it will be better place to eat than any café or brewery..they make the food only after order is placed…so I was not worried about stale food or anything…hope they maintain the quality and this will be a big hit…since it’s starting to get cold, I expect they add indo-chinese soups to the menu…keep it up guys..impressive food..and very friendly staff..makes you feel valuable customer
