I wish I could give pancheros a better rating but theyve struggled time and time again with getting online orders correct. If I order chips and queso they conveniently leave it out of my order and will not refund me when I call in. If you want sides like hot sauce for a quesadilla, you better have spare at home, I’ve never received the side of hot sauce or sour cream that I’ve ordered. You ask for double chicken in your quesadilla, you get a 1/2 scoop or chicken scraps that don’t constitute as chicken. I kid you not, I ordered double chicken and had 1 single piece of chicken on the 2nd half of my quesadilla.

This place used to be a reliable lunch stop, but something’s gone completely off the rails. I don’t mind paying for quality or good service, but neither exists here anymore. Between the constant staffing issues, the shrinking portions, and a company that clearly forgot the customers who helped build their brand, it’s turned into a joke.
Nearly $20 for a burrito, a laughably tiny scoop of guac and sour cream, and a medium drink? Come on. That’s not “rising costs” — that’s squeezing people because they think no one will push back. Most Iowans aren’t going to swallow that kind of price for something that keeps getting worse.
If others want to pretend that’s normal, good for them. I’m done. My money’s going somewhere that actually gives a damn about value and customers.

I was on Iowa city and stop at Pancheros for some Mexican food… the place is a lot like Chipotle…you select between tacos , burritos, bowl , etc then select your meat , chicken, steak, carnival, etc…. but pancheros is like 100 times better… the flavor on the meat was awesome. And the selection on Salsas spectacular , specially the salsa Verde. I loved the place the inly downside for me was they don’t have hard shells for tacos. If you are looking for Mexican food this is my favorite place so far. Definitely coming back

It seems as if the take out/door dash deliveries have taken over the stores. Standing in line watching several things made and finally getting my order taken. Establish a different method of doing things or don’t have customers come inside to order. It’s a cluster getting in and out most often during meal times of the day

Ordered delivery and my bowl came with cheese in it (I can’t eat dairy). I tried to call multiple times but the phone wasn’t working, so I had to drive there (while it was 0 degrees and snowing btw). The manager was rude as hellllll. Genuinely never had a manager or anyone in the service industry be rude to me in my whole life, so I was shocked. It seemed like he was assuming I was a delivery driver bringing the food back, but idk. Once I made it clear it was my food he started apologizing like crazy. Been coming here frequently for nearly like a decade but idk if I want to anymore after how genuinely rude that manager was. I’ve never been big on reviewing places, but this really pissed me off.

Terrible experience with an Uber Eats order from this Pancheros location (multiple missing items). Management originally offered a refund & asked to come into the store, but after arriving to the store, they redacted the refund offer & asked to use the Uber app. Management seems misaligned on the refund policy, but most importantly, were very unhelpful, seemed unconcerned, & did not make the situation any better. My family & I will certainly not be returning to this location.

My daughter (18) is obsessed with Pancheros. If the saying is true that you are what you eat then I have a burrito for a daughter. She can’t get enough of this place. We have a running joke, her pancheros is linked to my email and I can see everytime she orders. I always send her a text message saying, “Pancheros huh?” And for the longest time she couldn’t figure out how I knew that she was eating there…AGAIN!!!! She finally figured it out but still wants me to send the message WHENEVER she orders.
