I was surprised by the negative reviews but my experience was aweome. Pad Thai was in large portion (which is good. I hate still feeling hungry after eating a dish. A dish is supposed to make you full!), very tasty, and there was so much beef. They give 1 giant free bottle ice water, and generous napkins. They told me to sit and they’d bring the food out so that was good service. The order receiver man is the one also brought food out for me was friendly, polite, and repsectful the whole time. Their service & quality might have changed from the past? I recommend the previous customers to give them another chance.

The fried rice was amazing and some of the best I’ve had. The service was average, nothing crazy like some of the other reviews. The szechuan chicken was spicy but not too spicy and one of my favorites. My husband had the mongolian beef which was delicious too. Great affordable experience with halal food

I don’t eat Chinese food very often these days because I had it constantly growing up—but I decided to give China Doll a try, and I’m so glad I did!
I ordered the Mongolian beef with steamed rice, egg drop soup, and pork pan-fried dumplings. Everything was delicious! The Mongolian beef was tender and flavorful, with a sauce that hit the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The egg drop soup was warm and comforting, just like I remembered from childhood. And the dumplings? Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor—I could’ve eaten a whole tray of them!
The portions were generous, the service was quick and friendly, and the food overall had that cozy, nostalgic feel while still tasting fresh and well-made. China Doll definitely brought back good memories and might just bring Chinese food back into my regular rotation. Highly recommend!

Delicious and tasty American Chinese food. And it’s halal! The Mongolian beef and general tsos chicken were great.

Wow burned food AND we specified NO spice on the garlic shrimp and it was full of the stuff I am allergic to. Husband enjoys spicy and it was too luck for him, especially as he specified mild and that there was an allergy in the house.
We
Will not be back
We had two orders of crab ragoon both are burned.
No chopsticks provided

The food was good just needs a little improvement. The space could use some minor maintenance, and the restrooms weren’t the cleanest. Overall, good spot.

I ordered takeout and really loved the food. Fried rice and crab rangun are a must try! You can adjust your dish since they make it to order. Staff were nice and friendly.

Worst Chinese I’ve had in the city since moving to Chicago in 2022. When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I expect Chinese food.
Instead, I was given chicken that tasted more like it came out of a Mexican restaurant and not from a place called China doll, and for $20 for literally chicken and rice is ridiculous. I only came here because it was open at it was 11pm on a Sunday but I wish I would have saved my money.
For example, the “orange” chicken taste more like birria with red sauce than it does orange chicken. It’s even red..
