Fourth Planet BBQ is a pop-up restaurant and caterer specializing in authentic Texas-style barbecue. We offer in person dining and take out on Saturdays ONLY (12pm until we sell out). ✨️Came for the Texas Twinkie. Did not disappoint!❤️ Come early there’s a wait. Delicious loaded Jalapeño. The brisket elote was solid. Will have to return to taste sausage, it was soldout.

This was a place I was looking forward too for quite some time. As an avid smoker and frequent visitor to barbeque establishments, throughout the south and throughout Texas, I was always hoping for a Texas style bbq joint in my home state of Alabama. This place doesn’t just scratch the itch for Texas bbq but brings you back to Austin. Live music, long lines filled with friendly faces, and delicious smoked foods, I am filled with something more than just food. This place is wonderful and stands it’s ground with the heavy hitters of central texas bbq. Come for the delicious brisket, the perfect sausage, excellent turkey and Texas twinkies; stay for the atmosphere and friendly folks at my new favorite place to eat in the Shoals!

Amazing food, friendly service. We got there late in the day after almost everything had sold out. Even still, every dish that we got (even the sauces!) were exceptional, and our entire family loved it.
10/10. Will get back there soon, but earlier next time to sample more items before they sell out.

Wound down the July 4th holiday weekend with a quick trip to Florence, AL to get the closest thing to real TX BBQ I have had in the state of AL. Truth be told, we were a bit skeptical because it’s really hard to recreate TX style BBQ, but we walked away believing the hype!
Got in line an hour early and was the 20th person in line. Ah, just like Texans do on the weekend. Not much shade on a hot summer day, but the crew had FREE cold beer (need Lonestar or Shiner for the true TX experience) and water to quench everyone’s thirst, good music, and umbrellas to cover until you got to the shaded area during the wait. The single line moved fast. All the staples of any BBQ joint were present. We settled on brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno & cheddar link, TX twinkie (jalapeno with cream cheese & brisket wrapped in bacon), elote, mac and cheese, and TX style baked beans. Everything was on point and at a price point ($55 after tip for both of our meals) I can see why they have sold out every time they have opened.
The only con I can honestly say is they have very limited seating. A single inside community table that seats 6-8 people in what looked to be a boutique shop in downtown Florence and then everything else is outside. 25 July 2025 was like a furnace! No matter how many fans you have blowing the AL heat and humidity were a lot to bear while enjoying this meal! No fault to @fourthplanetbbq , but as they grow and word of mouth spreads, they will need to find a way to keep those who eat onsite cool.

First off free water or a can of beer while waiting in line, great idea!!! The bbq pork sauce or no sauce it’s perfect with the pickled onions. The Mac and cheese is a meal itself the portions they give you, you are getting what you paid for. I pray for yalls success to one day have your own place because you are going to stay packed from open to close.

I enjoyed my first time here!! I got Texas Twinkies (amazing Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and brisket then wrapped in bacon and dipped in a homemade bbq sauce) and a One meat plate with pork, boneless elote, and (I am a huge critic of mac and cheese. One of my top favorite dishes) AMAZING Mac and cheese. Came with bread. Pickles and pickled onions optional. I also got both red bbq sauce and mustard based bbq sauce. I definitely would recommend this! Very nice vibes and had live music that weekend. Located inside Florence trading Co.

Wow .. 10/10. Missed good BBQ. Brought the whole family here on this Saturday and immidiatly felt like I was back in Austin Texas. Good BBQ, out door seating, and just good vibes. Spoke to Luke and other employees there and everybody gave us a good experience. This is not just a BBQ restaurant where you come eat and leave. This is where you come, eat, and feel like family. 10/10 recommend.

Okay so I’ve had it three times now. Everytime I come away even more impressed. The pulled pork is so moist and delicious. They make excellent sauces but you don’t need them. The meat speaks for itself. The brisket has a well developed bark and the slices are so juicy and smoky. The portions are also HUGE. Two people can split a plate I’m not kidding. I’ve also had the elote street corn, sausage and Texas Twinkie( brisket and cream cheese stuffed jumbo jalapeño wrapped in bacon) everything is 10/10. The service is fast and friendly too!!

My boyfriend and I ordered the brisket and it was the best we’ve ever had! The Texas twinkies were also out of this world. Overall experience was 10/10!! We will most definitely comeback and recommend.

Truly the best bbq I’ve ever had in Alabama, hands down! Nothing around here even comes close. I’m from Texas so I know good bbq and this is it!!! The brisket is 1000000/10. All the sides are amazing. You can’t go wrong! Give them a try!!!
