The garlic shrimp and fish combo is where it’s at. I always order all fried rice instead of the normal sides it comes with. It makes the perfect meal if you’re going to the beach. Substituting out the sides for all fried rice is a little bit more of an extra cost but it’s worth it. That’s my go-to order at Bale, never disappoints.

I’ll say the food is great. I like it there but….. when I went today to order my food, of course all the places you go there is a sign, “MASK REQUIRED” at there door. Well, I am hoping that their cook at the back who prepared my food is wearing one. Because their cashier at the front is NOT WEARING A MASK! Yes! No mask! Now I don’t know if I like eat my food that I ordered today!

This place packages up some broth for us, but served it so hot that it melted through the bowl and burned my sisters leg. We went back, told them the problem and they didn’t care at all. They gave us new broth that literally did the same thing again. We salvaged one of the bowls and the food tasted disgusting.

For dinner I went back to order the fried rice and kalbi. Which I understand it says kimchi fried rice and Kalei on the menu. I just don’t really like their Kimchi fried rice, so I usually just get regular rice. But tonight that same mean ass lady said no they couldn’t do it. Which I don’t get because not only have they done it in the past, but there’s regular fried rice on their menus. The food is okay, it’s good for food if you’re on the go. Will not eat here again because this isn’t the first time this lady has been super mean.

I’ve been to many Vietnamese restaurants over the years so I have a lot to compare to. I ordered the pork noodle plate (vermicelli) and it was a pretty chintzy portion of meat and almost no vegetables to speak of. They also charge extra if you want an extra bowl….

May 2023 update. Closed for good….strip mall Vietnamese food which in itself is traditionally a good thing. Big menu lots of pho. An Asian Fusion and Burger place next door so other choices are available.

Tried both the pork belly and Kalua pork sliders. The pork belly was better. I have a hard time believing that the pulled pork sliders were rated #1. The pork was a bit on the dry side. The mac salad could use a little more mayonnaise.
