Le Vingt‑Trois Café & Bakery is one of those rare little cafés that instantly feels like a secret you’re lucky to stumble upon. Tucked into the local Herndon area, it’s cozy, whimsical, and full of charm—almost as if you’ve stepped into an Alice in Wonderland–style café, where everything feels slightly dreamy and thoughtfully curated.
From the moment you walk up, the exterior alone sets the tone. Floral accents, delicate details, and quaint seating outside make it feel romantic and inviting, like something out of a European storybook. Inside, the décor continues to enchant—soft colors, vintage frames lining the walls, sweet little design touches, and carefully arranged displays that make you want to look at everything twice. It’s not overdone; it’s intentional. Warm, intimate, and incredibly cozy.
This is the kind of place where time slows down. You can come here to meet a friend, enjoy a quiet solo moment, or simply sit with a coffee and soak in the atmosphere. It feels personal and comforting, like a neighborhood café that truly wants you to linger. Every corner feels photo-worthy, making it an ideal spot for content creation or just enjoying a peaceful escape from the usual rush.
The pastry case is beautiful, showcasing desserts and baked goods that look just as lovely as the space itself. Everything feels thoughtfully made and presented with care. Whether you’re stopping in for a sweet treat, a warm drink, or simply the experience, the café delivers on ambiance in a way that’s hard to find.
Le Vingt-Trois isn’t just a place to grab coffee—it’s an experience. Cozy, charming, and slightly whimsical, it’s the perfect little café for anyone who loves beautiful spaces, comforting vibes, and that magical feeling of discovering a hidden gem right in their own community.

Cute & cozy french café! They were so polite and accommodating. My young daughter wanted strawberries on her chocolate croissant and they added whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and strawberries She loved it and ate the whole thing. Best chai latte I have ever had. The jambon sandwich was perfect. Loved the decor, beautiful tea sets and easy going vibe.

I ordered the seasonal Ginger Bells latte, a croque monsieur, and pistachio croissant. The latte was very good (though a bit too hot) and was spiced and sweetened well. The sandwich was rich but not too heavy and the thyme sprigs surprisingly added a good amount of flavor. The pistachio croissant was filled with pistachio spread and was decedent but not cloyingly sweet.
The music was a bit too loud inside but I popped some headphones in to lower the din. Definitely recommend trying this place out, especially if you like iced coffee because they have a lot of interesting cold concoctions, including ones with edible flowers.

Service and atmosphere was great but the food was just ok. The cakes were pretty good though. Sandwiches were ok but very, very light on the ingredients. I would recommend checking out once but probably wouldn’t go back

Had high hopes for this absolutely adorable bakery! The atmosphere and service was chefs kiss Unfortunately the food was a let down, the bakery items were good but nothing mind blowing and their sandwich’s had an unbalanced ratio from bread to filling, you get more bread than anything else and my chicken schnitzel was definitely old. Dry and verging inedible.. I wanted to love it but definitely had better in the area.

Quaint, cozy, relaxed cafe serving breakfast pastries, desserts, sandwiches and more. Their coffee is very good. I tried their whipped coffee which was strong and sweet. Highly recommend their almond cake! The cake was so light and tasty. The pain au chocolate was not flaky and the chocolate wasn’t great. The jambon berre was good but a bit too salty. The flat white was one dimensional and not as good as the cold brew. Their cinnamon crumb cake was ok. I liked their cake but the crumb was too sweet and too thick. Chai latte is well balanced and leaning towards slightly sweet.

Wonderful cafe and bakery. There’s not a lot of seating. Off-peak hours it’s quiet. Good for studying. It’s close to the medical center. The coffee specials and plate specials are a real attraction.

This cute little french style cafe has cozy vibes and great ambiance. We ordered 2 coffees and a croissant. Both were above average. I wanted to have bacon egg & cheese breakfast but they don’t sell bacon. Instead they have ham. This place was packed when we arrived . Not a place i would love to come back but anybody looking for cozy place to hangout can give it a try

We were looking for a coffee and dessert place after having lunch nearby. The positive reviews led us to try this cozy French cafe in Reston. It looks like an old rundown building with a fresh coat of painting from the outside, and there’s no clue that it’s a French cafe except for the cafe’s name, Le Vingt Trois, displayed outside. However, once we walked in, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the place was decorated with flowers, plants, and picture frames on the wall and filled with wooden tables and chairs, resembling a cozy French garden cafe. We ordered two lattes, a Pistachio Mouse Madeline Cake slice, and a Cinnamon crumble cake bar. The lattes tasted good and were not watered down. The Pistachio cake was dry but tasty with mouse and creme on top, and the Cinnamon crumble cake was sweet. However, we felt that the desserts were overpriced. The service was good, and our orders were brought to our table. The place was packed when we arrived, and it seemed like it needed more staff as our table had crumbs and was a bit sticky, so we had to clean it ourselves.
