Venue: the set up is hip, comfortable and casual with nice opened patio wall and upbeat music playing in the background.
Thai iced tea and chicken wings were particularly tasty and enjoyable.
The Thai Garlic Tofu was delicious. Steamed tofu was so tender, and garlic sauce was heavenly.
The Pad Thai was as expected with very good portions, the sauce was slightly on sweet side but still wonderful. The only thing we were not able to enjoy as much was the soup, we ordered the clear type which was very tasty but too sour for my stomach, I was reminded to always order the coconut milk version of the soup in the future.
Service was friendly, warm, prompt, and helpful. Highly recommended!
You will end up paying more, but it’s absolutely worth it. The care and time spent on the quality of their dishes is evident. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.
Pork Belly – Crispy edges, super moist and fatty.
Chicken Wings – Crispy and well seasoned.
Pad See Ew – Firm and Bouncy flat noodles.
The staff and service were good everyone was nice and friendly. We did not have a reservation and waited no more than five minutes to be seated (around 630p on a Saturday), but it quickly filled after we arrived. It seats only about 50 diners.
Food, we ordered a fresh green salad, chicken wings and duck egg rolls fir appetizers, snd Owl Fried Rice, and crab with Thai chili and basil as shareable entrees. I had a beer with my meal, and my wife had the sangria.
The kitchen flow/timing was a bit off. After our order was taken, we waited about 15 – 20 minutes before the first appetizer came out. As we worked through the appetizers, the Owl Fried Rice arrived. About halfway through the rice, I realized I never got my beer and had to ask for it (I think it was forgotten). We were nearly done with the rice and still hadn’t received the crab dish, so I asked the waitress about it. She looked surprised and said she’d check on it. About 5–10 minutes later, the crab dish finally came out. My wife’s second sangria was comped due to this error.
Let’s talk about the food:
Green salad – Good and fresh. Did exactly what a salad should do.
Wings – Excellent. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Three wings – portion was smaller than typical, as this was part of the Yelp comp. A normal app is 5 wings.
Duck egg rolls – Great flavor, but the wrapper was a little thick and dense.
Owl Fried Rice – Really good overall. The curry flavor comes through strong in a good way. My only issue was that there was just one shrimp in the whole dish. Maybe go lighter on the pineapple and add more shrimp.
Crab with Thai chili and basil – Excellent. The flavors and preparation were on point.
Despite the delays, this was still a pleasant experience. I’ll definitely return and would recommend checking this place out. If the weather’s nice, I suggest grabbing a patio seat (there are only nine).
I got the short rib massaman (to die for) and my husband got the the Belmont. We ended the night with wonderful mango sticky rice ☺️
The Owl Thai Kitchen blew me away! The flavors in every bite are rich, fresh, and feel truly authentic, like a little trip to Thailand. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the care in preparation shines through. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive — they really make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
We went here for lunch and overall had a really good experience. There isn’t a huge difference in price between the lunch special and a regular meal, except that the lunch special includes an added soup or salad. We tried the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups and both were absolutely delicious!
I ordered the Pad Thai and it was actually very good — I finished the whole thing, which I rarely do when eating out. For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and tasty, but I didn’t love the rice as much because I prefer sweeter desserts. However, my fiancé really enjoyed it and said it wasn’t too sweet, which was a plus for him.
We went around 1 PM on a Tuesday, and it wasn’t very crowded. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely come back!
P.s. for bdays they allow you to choose a song to play through out the restaurant from a pre-selected list and it further cements their excellent music taste ( you’ll have to see for yourself) in addition they also serve ice cream on the house for bdays.
