The giant burrito is the star of the show here and when they say giant they mean it! This burrito is big and packed with big flavor and not outrageously expensive either. The rest of there food is delicious as well! Honestly we haven’t had anything that hasn’t been delicious from here or El Barrio II in Plainfield either! If you haven’t been here yet you need to check this place out!

Food is good, but I left my to-go box with my quesadilla in it, and not even 2 minutes later they threw it away and didn’t keep it to see if I would come back. I asked if they could make me a replacement since they threw my paid food away and they said no. I was moreso upset about the principle of not making it again since you deliberately threw away something I paid for.

I usually don’t have any complaints coming here. My husband and I love the food- it’s some of the best near us without having to go to Joliet or the city. But I gotta say I was not thrilled to get my order today. To be fair I’m willing to bet it was the Uber eats drivers fault, but there was other issues with our order.
Most of the beans ended up either outside of the container or on our tacos. We didn’t get any of the red or green sauce for the tacos, no plastic silverware and no napkins. And we were missing the salsa with our chips and salsa- which was a bummer.
First time this happened and like I said I’m willing to hedge bets it was the Uber eats driver trying to make too many trips in a hurry that caused the spilliage. Food arrived super fast without paying for it but I would have preferred he’d taken his time on this one.
Was the food edible, even delicious? Always.
Did it look pretty? Not by a long shot.
Did I eat it anyway? Absolutely.
Will I be ordering via a third party delivery service again? NO.
Lesson learned- if you don’t want food that was spilled all over itself and missing salsas and utensils, it’s worth not being lazy like I was tonight and just pick up food for yourself.

Sometimes, the food is too fatty or dry, but then you get times that it is sooo good. The service has always been great and restaurant clean.

I first came across this gem of a restaurant about 4 months ago and I have been coming every time I am in the area. As an executive chef, I do a lot of cooking at home, but occasionally like to go out to eat. El Barrio delivers each and every time! The food is always very fresh, fast and the service is great! They have a different special everyday and the portions are plentiful. If you’re ever in Romeoville be sure to stop by El Barrio and experience some amazing Mexican food, where the vibe is very warm and inviting!
