Social Profile:

With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. Twisted Root appeared on the second season of Diners, Dr

Chain with gourmet beef, turkey & vegan burgers, plus spiked shakes. Some locations have game meats.

If I could put negative stars for the service i would absolutely.
No welcome, no service skills or communication from anyone.
The menu was fun to look at, but the food was without flavor. The fries had a good amount of season salt, but the burger was quite obviously frozen, not fresh, they didnt remove the outer skin of the onions that they put on the burgers either.
And to top it off, the only cook their burgers to medium well or higher, so you have to eat overcooked patties.
Ordered a chocolate shake for my son, the guy made it with no milk and gave him a cardboard straw.
Avoid this location.

The food and atmosphere is good. They have an all you can eat pickle bar, which is unique! It also has a lot of pop-culture woven in. You can also request wild-game meat. Elk was available on the day we were there.

Our initial ordering went great, took a while for the food to come out. I took the last fork, told the counter worker and they never replenished. We ordered 2 shakes after our meal and it was over 20 minutes to get it and it was because the front worker (different than the one we initially ordered with) just had not made them. She just stood there and acted like everything was an inconvenience to her. We had to ask where the shakes were and it was another 10 minutes as we stood by the counter. While standing and waiting a gentleman was looking for a fork…they still had not replenished them.

Sad the service turned out poorly. Maybe just 1 employee, you never know. The rest went well!

A wonderful place to send some time eating. Clean, professional, friendly, good food, nice atmosphere, comfortable, easy on your wallet. I took a friend who has never been and he loved it. He looks forward to coming back with his wife and trying a different type of meat. Thank you for provide a place that he enjoyed and wanted to come back.

This place was delicious! The burger is juicy, the tenders are perfectly fried. The fries are nice and crisp. And the Watermelon margarita hit just right! The fries pickles weren’t worth the money. And the bathrooms were out of soap and paper towels but that was a simple fix upon asking. Over all, will be back! Glad we discovered this place!

Stopped through Abilene driving through with dog. Burgers are so . Pet friendly patio and nice view of pond. Pickle bar is fun. The Atomic slices and hot and sweet rated high with me. Order at bar, get a pager, and return to pickup order. Staff was friendly and helpful, please remember a tip.

Awful experience. They were out of alllll of their pickles. They were out of the 2 hamburger meals i wanted. Ordered a salad. After i got my salad they told me they were out of the dressing i ordered. Ordered a new dressing. Didnt taste good. Wanted to change it out and they told me i had to pay for extra dressing. Just awful.

We stopped by here on our way back home after a trip last week and it was pretty cool! I got The Lowrider Burger with Fried Pickles and it was good, I could tell the burger patty wasn’t seasoned, though. They have a pretty cool all-you-can-eat pickle bar! I appreciate the fried potato chips are made from scratch. The Strawberry Shake was pretty great, too! The place looks very cool, a lot of pop culture going on, even had Sailor Moon playin on the TV when I went, which I love! It’s located on a little strip beside a little pond with a fountain that’s very pretty! Overall, it’s a pretty cool place and good food.

Everything we ordered was delicious! I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was juicy, my husband had a salad and finished every last bit. We tried a bit of my kids chicken tenders and they were so good! Loved the outside seating near the pond and green space for the kids to play! We will definitely be back!

We ate in this restaurant the other night I ordered some kind of chicken sandwich, which was absolutely nasty. The meat tasted like rubber and was cold. The french fries were overcooked and very cold and the tea in the container was so old. It tasted old, but nobody in the restaurant seemed to care. This is one of the nastiest food places I have eaten in the last two years in Abilene, Texas and it cost $44 for two hamburgers. My wife got a hamburger and I got that chicken sandwich with both of them was nasty.

Best spot in town for juicy burgers and hot crispy fries! The Tootsies Hot chicken is nothing to shy away from either. Stunning views from the pet friendly patio really make this the experience you are looking for. Staff are just the best for getting you taken care of. Another win for the Twisted Root brand. Can’t wait to see where they open up next!!
