We entered the restaurant and were told by bartender to pick any table. There were people seated at 3 tables in the whole place and 4 people seated at the bar.
We were greeted by our server promptly and received our drinks.
I watched one server (not ours) finish her shift and leave after closing out 2 of the 3 tables with people. Our server closed out the other table.
I was noticing all of this because we were waiting and waiting and waiting to place our orders.
Then a family of 4 came in. Our server got their drinks. Then got their order…. still hasn’t taken our order. We were aggravated but remained patient.
Our order was taken and we watched the table that came in 20 minutes after us get their food. Still patient.
After waiting an hour, we received our food.
One burger was ordered medium rare and one was ordered medium… both were well-done.
My chicken sandwich was barely even chicken. You can see the picture. Very little of the sandwich had actual meat. That very small bit of meat was not good at all. It was thin, dry, chewy… overcooked.
The steak fries were great!

Was recommend this place on a Celiac FB page, and it did not disappoint! The gluten-free buns are some of the best I’ve tried! Very gluten-free and friendly, and the staff are awesome. One of the owners came out from the kitchen and greeted everyone with a smile and positive attitude. Highly recommend!

Stopped in after the football game for a victory meal, and I’m so glad we chose The Getaway. We were greeted right away, and the hospitality was top-notch from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing — everything tasted fresh and flavorful.
The ambiance was great, too — it had the perfect vibe to relax and celebrate after the game. I didn’t catch our waitress’s name, but she was incredibly sweet and attentive. Honestly, I had the feeling she might’ve even been an owner or manager with the way she genuinely cared about our experience.
When I’m back in town, this will definitely be one of my first stops. Highly recommend!

We got there on a very busy Thursday night and it was blues night. The band was fantastic. We luckily got 4 seats at the bar and Jody (part owner) was our bartender. What a hoot! She was fantastic! Grouper bites and philly cheesesteak did not disappoint. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience all around. And I think Jody’s single too! Just sayin……

I recently visited the Getaway Feill at 2386 Allen Rd, in Tallahassee, FL. I had finished my day visited the city and stopped in for a late lunch. I sat at the counter and greeted by my bar server and the owner looked up and said hello. I ordered a fish sandwich with cheddar and it came out w provolone. It still tasted good but the point was that the owner offered up another one. I declined but appreciated the offer. A good place to enjoy a meal!

The food was amazing! My travel buddy and I split the grouper and firebird sandwiches. Both had great flavor and the buns were very fresh. The garlic mashed potatoes hit the spot. A one man band was playing, which made the evening fun and lively. I can see why they were voted the best in 2024! The Getaway crew were SPECTACULAR. Give them a try

First off, it took very long time. It seemed understaffed and like there was either only one or two servers. She also was not very nice at all. Then, I got the grouper plate. Which was tasty, but the menu said it was supposed to be a “hefty portion of grouper” it was overall maybe three bite sized. This was pretty disappointing after waiting so long. Overall, the atmosphere was nice. It is a cute place. I was just disappointed in both the service and portion size.

We were looking for a local joint where we could get some good, classic, American fare and a good pour of draft beer on a rainy Saturday Winter evening and The Getaway didn’t disappoint. Good beer, good food, good service, good atmosphere. Everyone there felt local, no tourists, and although we visited from Orlando, we avoid the tourist traps wherever possible. The blue cheese bacon burger was juicy and perfectly cooked to the requested medium. The Daytona style wings were excellent, similar but not quite the same as chargrilled wings from Central New York, my previous home base. Waitress was wonderful and my partner enjoyed her grouper plate. Indoor, bar and patio seating was available and while there was only one parking spot available, it’s free and was very busy that night. Sounds level was actually reasonable considering the number of people there. Good times.
