It was taken me over a year to get to ROAM. This restaurant did not disappoint, The food and atmosphere were extraordinary. My family enjoyed our meal and meeting Chef Josh. He was kind and welcoming. I am not certain of what I liked the best – we all shared bites of each other’s meal – which I am grateful because we all had something different and it all looked so good when it arrived to the table. The special chicken wings are outstanding. The gumbo was perfectly spiced and full of meat and a rich sauce. My husband’s steak was perfectly cooked at the right temperature. My daughter’s boyfriend enjoyed his favorite alfredo and the steak was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the BBQ short ribs – they were so tender and flavorful. We really enjoyed our meal. Oh, my husband at the old fashioned which was perfect for his birthday celebration. Thank you for a good evening and sharing ROAM with our family.

The food was great, but we didn’t feel the service and ambiance adequately matched the price we paid. Granted there were 5 of us in our party and we ordered entrees, drinks, and 3 desserts, but there was a mandatory 18% gratuity which brought our bill over $250. At that price, we expect a level of service and ambiance commensurate with the price. Having said that, the food was great and we’ll likely go back again, but probably just the two of us and not the whole family next time.

Excellent restaurant! My husband and I stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night. The service was attentive and friendly! My husband started with the spicy margarita which he raved over! We then had the Roam & Rockefeller oysters. The oysters are a MUST have, no exceptions! Also treat yourself to the cornbread! I had the filet with mashed potatoes, my husband had the etouffee. Both were amazing!! The steak was cooked perfectly and the etoufee reminded my husband of his time living in Louisiana. We got the Brussel sprouts, mashed sweet potato, and Mac & cheese as our sides, all delicious. We got the red velvet cake to go, and we devoured it as soon as we got home! This place is a hidden gem in St. Pete!

I enticed a friend to go as she was hearing about the lamb chops. Dined there last night..Had a wonderful experience..I orderd the salmon and she ordered lamb chops. We both ordered oysters as well. When I saw her close her eyes upon biting into a chop.. I knew this place had her…Hidden gem thats small and cozy, yet the food speaks for itself. You will not be disappointed..

I hardly ever leave reviews but I had to this time. This place is an absolute hidden gem! The owner and chef know exactly what they are doing here. Every dish is very thought out, delicious and well plated.

I had a great experience at Rome Steakhouse in St. Pete! It’s always a bonus to support a Black-owned business, and this place truly delivered. The staff was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The owners even took the time to stop by and chat with guests, which gave the evening a warm, personal touch.
Our server, Chavon, was fantastic—knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations. The handcrafted drinks were phenomenal, and the R&B music playing at a comfortable volume added to the relaxed vibe.
We ordered the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection, and the Brussels sprouts were my personal favorite—crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The oysters were on the smaller side but packed a flavorful punch. The steak was seasoned well, and the loaded potatoes and spinach sides were exactly what we expected—classic and satisfying.
The restaurant itself is small but clean and cozy. Bench seating was decent for our short stay, though they also offer nicely cushioned chairs for a more comfortable option.
A 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, which is something to be aware of. The service was excellent, so it felt well-earned, but it’s helpful to know in advance.
All in all, Rome Steakhouse is a gem worth visiting. Great food, great vibes, and even better service. Will definitely be back!

My husband and I visited for his birthday. We didn’t realize it was more casual, so we ended up a bit overdressed. The space is smaller than it appears in the photos.
We both ordered the prime ribeye medium well. His came out perfect, but mine was undercooked and closer to raw, with very little seasoning. The butter pecan sweet mash, however, was outstanding, and the lobster bisque was good—though it tasted more like Alfredo than seafood.
One thing that bothered me was the open view into the kitchen. While I appreciate seeing the chefs at work, there were two young boys playing right next to where the food was being prepared, which was concerning.

We had an incredible meal at Roam. I highly recommend the charred oysters. We ordered 6 of them but they were so delicious that we ordered 6 more. The lamb chops were also excellent and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the gumbo for his meal and it did not disappoint. He has traveled and worked in many southern states. This was by far the best gumbo he has had. My steak was also cooked to perfection. My only wish is that we saved room for the homemade carrot cake. Next time!

Wow….had my first and most amazing Tomahawk at this Steakhouse. Upon walking in we were invited to a table by one of the owners. The atmosphere was very inviting with large pictures of landscapes from around the world. Started off with the Spicy Guava Margarita which had a delicious balance of sweet and spicy. It was so good that we ordered two. For appetizer we tried the Flame Charred Parmesan Oysters that was over the top delicious. First time for my hubby and he is now sold on them, as well as I am!!! We then had the ROAM salad which consisted of a spring mix of lettuce, strawberries, goat cheese and candied walnuts. The goat cheese was extremely creamy and an excellent pair with the strawberries. The highlight was the phenomenally delicious 36 oz Tomahawk that was charred to perfection. It was the most juicy and flavorful steak I have ever had. It was so huge that it is served in a serving platter!! We even had leftovers. To finish out the meal, we ordered the New York Cheesecake that was absolutely delicious and very creamy. Our server, Jordan, was truly amazing. He was very friendly, attentive, and accommodating by answering all our questions. He is the true definition of what customer service is. Thank you Jordan for an over the top experience!!
Don’t let the outside venue deter you from this incredibly exceptional dining experience. We will definitely be going back!!!
