Jay was an amazing host. His recommendations were top notch. The prices are reasonable. I had the SSG which was grits, fried fish, grilled shrimp, and crab meat. My friend had a waffle, grits, sausage, and eggs. The portion sizes were extra large and everything was well seasoned. I will be getting the chicken and waffles next time. They looked amazing. The music is a great vibe and the coffee was good and strong. As good as the food was, Jay’s personality is one of the main reasons that we will return. Top notch!!!!

Food was ok. It took awhile to come out. Plastic cutlery was a turn off. A bit overpriced and tip was included in the bill. We were only a party of 2.

Don’t get me wrong. The food was good and they made sure that they accommodated everything that we asked and make sure that we had a good experience like I won’t even lie. I had to say that was the best french toast I ever had in my life. They were just everything you imagine French toast to be! Yall want to know the only thing that really disturbed me and would caused me to not come back? Was the fact that they charged 18% for gratitude and don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t mind because every restaurant that I go to if I have the money and even if I don’t I do my best to always tip the server, but I had recently read a review like I always do before I go to restaurants and somebody says that her and her daughter went and they also charged her that and then they replied back to her and told her they’re sorry because they don’t know why that happened. They only charge for a large larger parties so then we got our receipt and we were also charged 18% we asked why we were charged 18% if it was only two people and they said they charge it even if you’re by yourself and come eat and I was like OH OKAY and me and my friend just paid it and we left, but that was the only thing overall I can say that the experience was pretty great!

So coming in you really can have a whole date here for brunch. The menu is A1 and how Mercedes helped us through the menu was like above and beyond. They take the time and would even customize the menu for you. By the way, Delicious!!!!

I ordered the big easy biscuit bowl. Description states Two of our Sunrise Social HONEY BUTTER BISCUITS (Two small, terribly dry, stale, spongy biscuit, scone/dry cornbread consistency. No trace of butter or honey). Served with their signature gumbo gravy (Gravy drought portion of a basic gumbo roux) Gumbo gravy should have some type of protein in it and should drench the biscuits. Misleading description. Two orders for $30 definitely not worth it. I wouldn’t eat this after two hours into bottomless mimosas.

It wasn’t that bad.
It was a small place, a couple had to sit and eat at the same table with us.
There was one guy being a waiter, cashier and host.
He tried his best.
They had bottled water on the menu, but ran out(it was 11:30 am.) I had to leave back out and walk to a store to get water.
Probably for the best, their water would have cost $5.
The coffee was like hotel room coffee for $5, wasn’t worth it.
Received our food and had to wait for utensils because he was doing 10 things at once.
The food was okay, I had the S.G.G. I didn’t really like the cornmeal breading on my fish.
It was okay though.
I did like their breakfast potatoes though, they were perfect! My sister-in-law had chicken and waffles… which she enjoyed.
I tasted her waffles, it was really good.
The portions were really good as well as the presentation.
The music was too explicit (a few songs were strongly inappropriate.)
You have children, families, church goers, all different walks of life coming into your establishment. You need to have a variety of music, if you choose to play music.
To top it off, they automatically add 18% gratuity. The ONLY reason I didn’t make a fuss was because he did everything by himself.
Overall, the experience was not pleasing enough to return.
Update/Edited Review:
I was just going through my receipts and purchases.
I just noticed I was charged an extra $5 for something called passion.
I don’t know what this is and neither of us had it.
Please be sure to check your receipt thoroughly before leaving.
That’s on me!

Sunrise Social is definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to! Our server Agali gave excellent service — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt taken care of the entire time. I had the Sunrise Saturday Special and my wife had the SGG. Both meals were fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. Great food + great service = a great experience. Highly recommend!
