Burgers were very good. Kind of small compared to normal fast food burgers. Their home sauce is yummy on both the fries and the burgers. A bit overpriced for the size but worth it for the taste. Fries were mid at best. There’s 2 other food establishments in the same place so keep that in mind. The tables werent the cleanest and there was some loitering. Food took a while because it is made to order and because it seems the burger place also makes the food for one of the other food establishments in there. You take your own order in one of the kiosks.

Hit up SALT Burgers + Fries in Wicker Park for a quick dinner. Ordered the Double Cheeseburger and Salt Fries. The burger was juicy with a nice sear, and the sauce added a good kick. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Service was quick and friendly. Only downside was the price, a bit on the higher side for a casual spot. But overall, a solid choice for a satisfying meal.

This use to be my everyday lunch spot the staff here was so humble and good but unfortunately they changed the staff and the new staff is horrible the old man was so rude as if he is giving food for free. This particular Salt is in the little multi-business retail space right next to the Annoyance Theatre. It’s got a good amount of seating and was relatively clean for more of a counter-service sort of place. I didn’t really interact with the staff much, we ordered via kiosk, but they did make sure to tell us which burger was which since we’d ordered slightly different things, and that was good enough for me.
As far as food goes, the burger is good, not amazing. If you’re craving a double smash patty and can’t spend the time to get to one of the all-stars of the style, this is perfectly good with a nice crust, good sauce, and kind of a nice seasoning blend. A little heavy on the black pepper, but overall for less than $10 it hit the spot.
The fries on the other hand… well we ordered the Fuego Fries. They are nice even shoestring fries, a decent amount to an order, enough for one, maybe to share if you’re not that hungry. They must season them well because there was very even seasoning coverage BUT they are SPICY. They are spicy with a heat that builds and doesn’t quit. I honestly don’t think it adds much to the flavor, and it was not at all what I was expecting. My partner and I both like spicy foods, hot sauces, Tony C’s is our default flavor enhancer, and this was a kick in the mouth. We didn’t finish half the fries. My mouth feels hot just thinking about them.
In summary, worth a stop if you’re hungry and nearby or craving a quick double smash, buyer beware on the fuego fries, they are not messing around.
