I decided to try one of the flatbreads from Tell-Tales for takeout, and it was great. Admittedly, the place was busy on a Friday evening, and service was fairly slow, but the staff seemed friendly. The Sicilian flatbread was delicious and packed with toppings and flavor. The dried tomatoes really popped. I’ll definitely have to try eating in the restaurant sometime; it seemed like a nice place.

Stopped in for the soft opening while visiting Holland on our boat trip. Italian salad was phenomenal and so was the seafood pizza! Music level was perfect for being able to visit. Service was quick and friendly. We’ll definitely stop here again.

We had a party of 6 and ate at Tell-Tales last evening, and it was wonderful. The restaurant newly-updated design is modern and the atmosphere relaxed. We all had the soup of the day (tomato bisque), and all agreed it was outstanding. The main dish portions were plentiful, they had a great bar menu, and the service (Patty) was attentive. Can’t wait to return!

Great food! We had bolognese and Alfredo pastas. They were both terrific. I had a Manhattan, which was perfectly made and delicious. They have many beers on tap. The place is really nice and the bartender, Sophia, was excellent. You should give this place a try. We will be back.

I visited just over a week ago, and this was the first time I’ve been back to this location since it was Parkway Inn. I know it’s not trying to replace that and times have changed, I wasn’t expecting to have the same experience. The atmosphere was nice, except for I felt like tables were really close together. I was on a girls night date so we tried a few different things and they were fine. The “small” smoked Caesar salad ($10) was extremely tiny, the taste was good, but I didn’t taste anything smokey about it. I also got the artichoke flatbread ($19) it was good, I replaced the peppers with green olives and thought the taste was good. I was disappointed by my tiny margarita that I asked for house tequila and found on the bill it was $13. Overall, it was too expensive for what I got. For it being the only restaurant this far out on S.Shore Dr, it should have more of a welcoming price point. There’s no reason that a bill for just myself should’ve cost as much as it did for what I got.

Four of us—all longtime restaurant folks—popped into Tell Tales Trattoria on a Sunday, just looking for a quick bite and a couple drinks. We didn’t go all-in on a full meal, just split the Cuban Pickle Crisis sandwich and a flatbread, and both were absolutely fantastic.
The Cuban Pickle Crisis was packed with flavor—such a fun and well-executed twist on a classic. The flatbread was just as impressive—crispy, fresh, and loaded with flavor. You could tell everything was made with care and intention.
We also tried a few cocktails, and they were seriously great. Well-balanced, creative, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing behind the bar. Definitely not your average mixed drinks.
The ambiance is cozy and stylish, the kind of place that feels just as perfect for a casual afternoon drink as it would for a nice dinner out.
Service was warm and professional. Friendly without being overbearing, and really attentive to details. It felt like we were in good hands from the second we walked in.
Since it was a Sunday, we were kind of hoping for a few more brunch options on the menu—but what we had, we really enjoyed. Just something to consider, especially for a spot that nails everything else so well.
If we had one other small suggestion, it’d be the music. It didn’t quite match the vibe. Something like Frank Sinatra, Al Martino, or Dean Martin would pair perfectly with the ambiance and elevate the whole experience even more.
That aside, everything else was spot-on. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere—it’s all there. Coming from four people who’ve each worked in restaurants for years, that’s saying something. We’ll definitely be back, and we’re already recommending it to others.
