I brought my mother here after a recent loss in our family, hoping a good meal might bring her some comfort. It was our first time visiting, and the online reviews were right. The food and atmosphere are truly special. The staff and even the other customers were incredibly patient, friendly, and welcoming. We ended up chatting with people while we waited, and they assured us the food would be worth it. They were absolutely right.
My mother is from the South and a tough critic when it comes to soul food, but she gave everything a solid 5 out of 5. Especially the collard greens. It was a bit of a trip getting here, but completely worth it. I’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait to bring my girlfriend, who also loves soul food.

OMG! Wow! Everything was so delicious. Most soul food restaurant food be salty, Passion Eats knows how much salt to use. First time I could enjoy my dinner without working about my blood pressure going up! Me and my family of 20 enjoyed our food here!

PassionEats is located within a strip mall off a very busy street. There is plenty of off street parking, so no need to worry about where to park. This was my first time dining at PassionEats. I dined with 13 friends in a private room inside the restaurant. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, and let me tell you it was non-stop busy. I ordered the 3 piece fried white chicken, with collard greens and mac and cheese as my side dishes. I also odered the bananna pudding as my dessert. The food was good. For as busy as this restaurant was, the service was great.

If you’re looking for authentic soul food…look no further!!! The food is perfectly seasoned and not drenched in parsley. I really wanted to gatekeep this restaurant but I know how hard it is to find good eats in Chicago. The greens weren’t canned andI know for a fact that Mac and cheese recipe was passed down generations. The food was so good by the time I realized I needed picture for my review the food was gone. The food outrageously good. Good southern cooking seasoned to perfection. I had the pork chops which I enjoyed, the wife had the turkey chops and those were the bomb. Our sides were greens, yams, Mac&cheese and rice and gravy. The atmosphere was clean, simple and just right. Nice little sit down spot. The amount of food you get is well worth the price which is very reasonable.

Raniyah I absolutely loved my experience! The food was delicious—I had the fried catfish with yams and cabbage, served with perfectly moist cornbread, and every bite was amazing. The service was professional and friendly, making the meal even more enjoyable. I also appreciated that you can sit down and relax while eating, and the music set such a great vibe. My #1 go to place after church for soul food (when I’m not up to cooking myself). The saff is always welcoming with very pleasant demeanor. The customer service is always on point. The atmosphere of this establishment is very pleasant as well. Great location with plenty of parking (parking lot on location). The prices are reasonable. Saving the best for last, THE FOOD NEVER DISAPPOINT!! It’s always super delicious, worth every penny you spend and the portion size is better than other soul Food establishments. You have to go here on more than one occasion in order to try everything on the menu. Trust me, you will be satisfied each time. Allow PASSION EATS to become your #1 soul food restaurant away from home.

Me and my wife been here at least 4× . The food and the service is A1. I get the turkey chops and the 6 wings dinner with greens or cabbage and yams with macaroni . The Catfish is delicious. All the food taste great. My father had to try the turkey wings , and he loved it. Tje owner seems like a great person and her Employee seem to have good attitude and great service. I give them 10 out 10.

I had the pleasure to go there and taste some really good Soul Food. I had potato salad, greens Mac & cheese, prime ribs was so tender and refreshing home cold ice tea. Everything was on point, if I live in Chicago I would come there Again. The owner Shawnee and her staff are so nice and they make you feel at home. The atmosphere was round tables you see families there and individuals sitting there enjoying food. people were coming and going getting food from here. They also have beautiful room to host a party and they do catering as well.
